I have to agree with you both. I blame the elastic clause. I mean, the president can hand out executive orders and propose laws, both of which are more legislative, and he can hand out pardons, which is more judicial. It's has a lot to do with checks and balances.

o.o I have no idea how I didn't see the question... but I guess I'll answer now that I've re-read the post.

Government should provide some form of free healthcare, that is available to everyone. Government should provide us with water, a few healthy meal choices, a form of education, job opportunities if needed, basic shelter, free electricity with a strict limit, free plumbing with a strict limit, clothing, banks, a basic form of home and auto insurance, and free newspapers made by the government that are very basic.

Communism sounds awesome in theory, but because of a few "bad" countries, we generally assosciate it with Russian invaders and nukes and Cuba. It would be easy to set up a communist government in America, hell, I think we're leaning there right now, and how hard would it be to set up a communist country that still have rights and democracy? Easy, until a Republican gets voted to office and destroys it. I mean, extreme republicans can be viewed as anarchists, while extreme democrats will be labeled communists. But what do I know? I'm only fourteen.

My father told me a saying: An old democrat is probably brainless, while a young republican is probably heartless.

Anyways, I'm thinking about writing a letter or possibly even an email to my state's two senators, both democrat, as I'm from Maryland, to vote for the healthcare bill, which my guess is that they would anyways.

Lol, I just remembered this funny video my gf showed me, where they were discussing the republicans supposed healthcare plan: Don't get sick. If you do get sick, get better. If you can't get better, die. A little extreme, but funny.

Response to: Hiroshima and Nagasaki justified? Posted December 3rd, 2009 in Politics

I'm actually researching this for my project at school. The atom bomb in particular. What we should have done is drop a bomb on a remote area in Japan, to show them the destructive power of the A-bomb. If they surrendered, there would be even less casualties. It'd be a waste of a "Fat Man" or "Little Boy," (Why those names?) but nukes were actually supposed to be cheaper to make, if my sources of research are correct. If there was no response, just nuke 'em to hell. The civilians would protest to stop the war when they saw the power of the A-bomb, anyways. They'd be scared shitless, with low deaths.

Anyways, I heard this story that is very unfortunate for the victim, but very fortunate for him to survive:

On August 6, 1945, Tsutomu Yamaguchi was in Hiroshima on a business trip when the United States dropped an atomic bomb on the city. Suffering burns to his chest, Yamaguchi went home to Nagasaki, where his employer asked about his injuries and why he returned early. An argument started between him and his boss, who didn't believe Hiroshima was bombed. In the middle of the argument, there was a bright flash...

And he is one of the few people to have survived both A-bomb drops on Japan. It left me wondering what his employer thought after the bombing, if he survived.

Anyways, the bomb dropped were justified in my opinion, but could've been prevented by showing them the destruction the bombs caused, and most likely cause civilians to stop supporting the war.

Oh, I almost forgot, even though it doesn't do anything to enhace the quality, my original PNG. Oh, and I used GIMP, not paint.
