KEY WORD LADIES AND GENTLEMEN "right now" trust me, this is only scratching the surface of the hardware. there will be better to come. DO I HEAR A DEAD SPACE 3D >.<
The fact that it has 3G and that I can play online with my friends on PS3 is what intrigues me. It can also be used as a PS3 controller and apparently has better graphics than the Xbox 360.
I tried the demo at Gamestop and I thought it was pretty cool. 3D is great and all, but if the best game you can throw at me is a Mario title, then I'm disappointed. I had Resident Evil: The Mercenaries for 3DS and I wasn't impressed by it.
Unless the new Resident Evil for the 3DS is something I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT, I'm seeing the Vita as a superior handheld.
if you have the 3ds now, then just download the new RE and check it out yourself. but from the way it sounds, you can have alot more uses with the vita than the 3ds. personally, I have no need with anything you've mentioned with the vita, and the fact that its better than 360 graphics wise is a bit questionable. but for me, 3ds has it all. and knowing it will be incorperated with the new wii U makes me want to keep it even more (and its zelda addition, hell no im not giving it away). you have to remember theres still metal gear (I havent tried out the demo yet) kid icuras, street fighter, dead or alive, paper mario, Kingdom hearts, and so much more to come. so it all comes down to which you would be able to utilize the most. make a list of all the games you want for both, and all the features for both and see which you would prefer :)
pirate vs ninja the dodge ball game -.-

Skyward Sword has sold almost 4 million, which is a fine number for a game only available on one system.
wat makes a zelda game a true zelda game is the "master piece" behind it. I dont believe that it should be like skyrim. I think that if they release a zelda game on the new system with a battle scene and quality like the tech demo shown, then the zelda franchise is gonna be AWESOME. skyward sword had everything we wanted, only problem was it had everything we DIDNT want as well. and yes, im talking about that B@#%& riding his back the whole game
but no, "hardcore" is a type of generalized genre, it does exist. but the point of this thread is to see what everyone thinks makes a "hardcore" game. there is no true definition. everyone has his own view of a hardcore game which means it really makes no sense when companies say "we are focusing on the hardcore audience"I know, you asked for my opinion and I gave it. Why shoot it down just because you don't like it bro? Many do like this rogue genre of permanent death.
sry, when I said "but no" I wasnt talking about what you said, I was talking about wat the others were saying about how it doesnt exist. wat I was saying is everyone has his own opinion of hardcore game, just because I dont think a hardcore game is one that a permanent death doesnt make it the wrong definition. so I wasnt shooting down your idea, but rather supporting it
At 13 minutes ago, Ragnarokia wrote: hardcore games imo are one life games. The type of games that if you die you are dead, you have to start over.
A recent game like this would be Binding of Isaac, if you die you need to start over it doesn't matter how far you get. More extreme cases of hardcore games would be Diablo 2 if you play "hardcore" which permanently kills your character if you die, no matter how long or how much gear you have gotten it.
There are completely extreme hardcore games where you aren't allowed to restart it, and you are effectively locked into the try you have. However considering this type is a dead end to the game you generally only find such things in Indie games. These games usually have this mechanic to leave an impact on the player, either one of sadness (one chance) or one of extreme fear (Luna game 4)
yo, thats not even cool, y have a game imitate life? I play games to escape life. y run away from one demon to the next? that just makes no sense :/

I always imagine these buffed up guys with blood on their face, smiling with thier tongues sticking out every time they say hardcore audience........ I think ima draw that :)

would you consider paper mario to be a hardcore game?
I truly believe that there is no better system for skyrim to be on than the U, I mean just imagine easily switching between magic, weapens, items, and cloths, looking at the map while adventuring, oh god its gonna be so awesome, but I just really would like to know what you guys think.
the new U
300$ more or less?
I always thought of a hardcore game as a game that needs skill to play. a game that forces you to die unless you train and level up or get better yourself. I nvr really thought of a hardcore game as a game that has to do with the genre, when more of a game that has to do with skill.
fyi, this is opinion based.
At 14 minutes ago, Ihatedapatriots wrote: I consider a hardcore game something like Counter Strike or Skyrim. Something you'll spend more than 100 hours on. Dead Space doesn't really qualify though it appeals to the same audience.
dead space isnt a hardcore game? I think ima have to start a new thread for that, but back to the old topic, what do you think nintendo will do nxt? are they just gonna do wat they say? or do they have sth up their sleeves?
Stop lessining the word's meaning.
I define it as a game that will have you in deep focus while playing, regardless the age, its the skill that counts, and a hardcore game is one that is not easily beaten without skill. the wii hardly had any of those games, only one I can think of was metroid, but I hope theyll get better games for this upcoming system.
fyi, dead space is 3rd person ;) I dont play much of multiplayer fps

sry, I didnt mean it like that, what I meant was that the stocks dropped, i know it wasnt enough to cause them financial trouble, but it was enough to hurt. and like you said, its not impossible for nintendo to go back to its old days. thats y I believe that 3rd paties are gonna stick with nintendo this time, and im gonna get the chance to play dead space three on the new wii u :D
I'm sure there will be some hardcore titles for the U, I just seriously doubt they're what it will be known for.
but that would defeat the whole purpose of calling it the "Wii U" -.-
They said that because they know who pays attention to E3. They also know what audience they picked up with the Wii. It's a highly profitable audience. My aunt is already talking about the new Wii. They sold a lot of Wiis. A lot of them. I highly doubt they care enough about an audience that will have to at best split with two competitors to sacrifice the success they've been having.
nintendo was hit so hard for not lsning to their audiance that the president had to cut down his salary by 50% AND made the price drop for the 3ds while giving those who already bought the 3ds free gba games. nintendo isnt the kind of company that would just say things to draw in an audience and then trick them. the whole reason for the "U" in wii U is to prove that this system is gonna be about hard core gaming. TRUST me, there will be plenty of hardcore titles for the new wii U, and one way I know that its true is just from the 3ds itself. look at the titles being released for it. metal gear, resident evil, super street fighter, dead or alive, these are all games that we would only DREAM of seeing on the wii, and yet here they are on the 3ds, a handheld system, there is no reason to y ninty would abandon its fans wishes and just keep releasing wii sports
At 13 minutes ago, Ihatedapatriots wrote: Nintendo will continue to do what its been doing for the last decade and a half, saying Fuck you to hardcore, serious business gaming and embracing casual and retro gaming. Which is fine with me. The Gamecube was my favorite system if that generation and I love the Wii, too. You're never going to be able to play an Elder Scrolls game on a Nintendo system, and you shouldn't.
I highly disagree with your comment there, nintendo specifically said in E-3 that their bringing hardcore games to the next consle. I believe we're going to see things like bioshock infinite as we all the elder scrolls (and im hoping that they fix all the bugs) this console has too good of a performance to just play stupid games on and one of the main reasons to y I believe nintendo has learned its lesson is because its stocks went way down because they didnt lsn to their fans. and I believe that if ninty doesnt give us wat we've been craving for for the past 5 years that things just might turn ugly, and we all know ninty is too smart for that :)
well here are a couple of more questions:
how much are you betting the wii U is gonna be for? my guess is 300$ but if nintendo still doesnt feel like theyre out the safe zone then I think they'll release it for 250 but thats just too much of a good thing :p
wal games are gonna go to the wii U? is skyrim gonna be on the wii U? Im praying for that personally, and how long is it gonna take ninty to release the nxt zelda game? will they announce it in this E-3?
and whose betting on a tablet controler release for sony and microsoft ;)
I would have to choose ACTION RPG, you just cant beat those games, its fast paced, difficult, always big and fun with a variety of weapons and quests. examples are
all god of war games, all kingdom heart games, all devil may cry games and I believe the world ends with you is also an example, but none the less, action rpgs always capture the best features of all genres and for that reason I'll have them at the top of my list

They say the capabilities of the system are estimated to be just a little bit better than the Xbox 360 and if I understand right, it's about on par with the PS3.
personally, I think that the wii U is more than just a little bit better than the current systems. Im hoping that within the nxt E-3 Nintendo will announce that the wii U has been modified to have an even better performance. I heard a rumor once that Nintendo modified the Wii U and so im hoping that they modified the system to match the upcoming systems. but honestly, how much better could the graphics of a game get? is 1.5X better than the ps3 not enough? I see games being released these days with graphics that have me jizzing my pants. so I just think that we reached a point in quality where its just meaningless detail that gets improved ryt? y pay for a system 3X the price for offering quality thats practically impossible to realize? am I ryt or wrong here?
At 21 minutes ago, orangebomb wrote: It all depends on the Wii U sales, and what games are going to be available at launch. Either way, Nintendo is still going to be around in the gaming world both now and the future, but if they don't get a running start with the Wii U, then they will most likely fall behind MS and Sony if they haven't already. Hopefully, they would be able to address some of the problems that plagued the Wii, {i.e Internet connections, graphics output, etc.} and not try to rely so heavily on anything gimmicky.
With all that said, my guess is that they will be some type of gimmick that Nintendo will pull out of their ass before the holidays. {I sure do hope not.}
they say that the nxt xbox is gonna have graphics 10X stronger, I really dont know if thats true but another more reliable rumor I heard was that the unreal engine 4 is gonna be with the nxt gen system.
"the executive said the new engine is now running on "systems we can't name yet"."
so can this be a real threat to the Wii U?
ok, I know your all wondering this so lets get this out there and see wat everyone has to say
after the announcement of the Nintendo Wii U the company started to drop but started to make some serious changes afterwards, but are they enough?
with everything in play, 3ds price drop along with its releases, the up coming release of the Wii U, and all the actions nintendo is playing, such as creating the nintendo network or buying mobiclip. this past year, I have seen nintendo play more cards than ever, and it really seems like they're changing, but is it for the better or worse? are they changes sufficient enough? I know nintendo isnt going bankrupt or anything like that, but have they learned from their past mistakes? will the wii U truly be as strong as the nxt gen consoles? and what else does nintendo have up its sleeves?
Im a HUGE nintendo fan and I just always wonder about this. so wat are your thoughts? yay or nay? up or down? good or bad? ying or yang? and wat rumors have you heard?
Kirby one, always, but i do have several of the newer ones, the latest one i have acquired is the Donkey Kong one.
me too XD

THANK YOU SO MUCH
this was exactly wat I was looking for :)
I didnt watch all of it but from what it looks like, its wat I need. I hope this helps me improve my skill in flash making :)
thanks, I guess, I look at these again,
I was just hoping there was sth a little more up to date and can go in depth with flash.
I was wondering where the newgrounds tutorial is, and I was wondering if they updated it. most of the tutorials that were there were from back in 05 max of 08 and thats 7 years ago. another question is that I was wondering if anyone knows of any online tutorial that can help me start out with animation. alot of times I just sit blankly in front of the computer screen mainly because I dont know how to even start a flash. whether its the loading screen or the animation itself.
for the online tutorial, I dont mind if I have to pay for it or w.e just as long as its good and can help. ill take anything, preferably a video tutorial but if its all writing than fine.
thank you so much, and I hope you find sth good :)
