Hey all, I'm back on the animation scene with a new parody under construction: "Phoenix Wright: Asshole Attorney" (Before the complaints begin, I've wanted to do a PW parody before Phoenix Wrong was made and it's not the same idea). However, I need some voice actors to play a few people. Preferably all American voice acting (since the game's based in America). Here are the characters I need voice actors for and, if I've listed them with a soundbyte, it would be helpful if your voice acting sounded like that. I will also need people, particularly the Phoenix voice, to swear. I'm sure no one has a problem with that but I say that just incase. Anyways, I need voices for the following characters:

Phoenix Wright
Picture
Soundbyte
Sample line: "Your honour, I'd like to point out to the jury that the prosecutor is a douche bag."

Miles Edgeworth
Picture
Soundbyte
Sample line: "All the evidence here is decisive, it is clear that the defendant is guilty."

Winston Payne
Picture
Soundbyte
Sample line: "Your honour! I object to this Flash animation! It's made with sprites and therefore clearly took no skill or effort to make!"

The Judge
Picture
Sample line: "The defense's comment is duely noted and agreed upon. The prosecution will shut the fuck up."

Any samples, please send to cosmic_cruton@hotmail.com

Thanks!

Topic: One-way reviews

Posted: 07/27/06 08:03 AM

Forum: General

I was just flicking through some of my reviews, filtering through all the abusive/constructive one, then I came across this review:

"This shit is fucking boring , not only it's not funny but i dosen't have any action in it! I think you can do better!"

Now, it's not the first sentence that I took much notice of, but it was the second, in conjunction with "it doesn't have any action in it". I thought about this for a few seconds, and I thought, sure, maybe it hasn't, but ultimately, does action really make for a good flash animation? I mean sure, action is always interesting, just seeing the major ass-whooping is awesome, and when I put my mind to it, I probably could pull it off. But sometimes "action" ruins a flash. In a major example, can you see the touching 9/11 flashes having the same impact if they have someone kicking someone else's ass? My opinion of that is no.

I like animations to achieve what they set out to do. If they're meant to highlight some oddity, or if they're there for comedy, you don't always need action.

Thoughts?

Topic: PHP - multiple Require()

Posted: 07/16/06 04:29 PM

Forum: Programming

I'm having troubles with a php code. I'm trying to use a news fetch and a login on non-forum pages mod for my vBulletin forum, but they both use the "require" code. For the news fetch, I have to code:

<?php
chdir('/home/******/public_html/bbs');
require_once('/home/******/public_html/bbs
/vBExternal.php');
?>

And for the login, I need to code:

<?php
chdir('/home/******/public_html/bbs');
require_once('/home/******/public_html/bbs
/global.php');
?>

Now, stand alone, these are fine and work perfectly. However, if I do something like this:

<?php
chdir('/home/******/public_html/bbs');
require_once('/home/******/public_html/bbs
/vBExternal.php');
require_once('/home/******/public_html/bbs
/global.php');
?>

I get a blank page. I've tried everything, putting the codes seperate, making one require_once() and the other require(), switching the two around... everything, but nothing works. Help!

Do we really need another layout Tom? It just seems that everytime a new layout's finished, it's slowely being replaced by a new one. I love the current layout!

In other news, do you plan on updating the Netwerk in the new layout? I'd like to see that updated :)

I actually like that idea, and I could see potential in both versions. With the Pico one, you could have the text "Pikachu got BURNED" after he faints or something, I dunno. But Pikachu hanging himself is always funny. Maybe as he sees the female, that music that plays in FF10 when Tidus and Yuna kiss plays... I dunno.

Liking it!

Perhaps if we knew what was going on the previous scene then our... ideas would be better.

Oh, sorry, I forgot to mention about that. The scenes are selectable, basically, imagine Yoshi's Island by Randy Solem, but with Pokemon and killing Pikachu. They're not linked in any shape or form.

Posted: 11/03/05 03:46 PM

Ok, I'm not entirely sure how many people have seen my stuff, but I thought I'd post this because some people might find this an interesting idea. Before I continue though, this will be a sprite animation for no other reason than I want it to look perfectly like it could be in game, so don't ram anti-sprite rants down my throat please.

I started a flash animation called "Pokegone" last year that was meant to have been finished in February 2004, however, my co-author has disappeared and I decided it was time I worked on it myself to finish it. It'll be a GBA parody using Fire Red and Leaf Green sprites about scenes killing that god forsaken yellow rat, Pikachu... oh how I loathe him...

Anyways, to the point. I will be making 3 versions of the animation, one for each site I post it on... one version will obviously be Newgrounds version. Each version will have a unique title screen and a minor change in one of the first 3 scenes. But why stop there? I've decided to run a contest for an idea for scene 4. The scene will be entirely exclusive to the Newgrounds version and I will choose the best one on the 11th November. Of course, you'll have a better chance of winning if you post in the other two threads on the other sites... but I shan't advertise those unless asked ;)

If you'd like to suggest a scene, then reply to this thread with your idea. You can suggest more than one. If you add the two following suggestions, your scene will be more likely to be picked:

- Pikachu dying is a real bonus!
- Try not to make anything with too much animation. I wanna keep it feeling like it's in a GBA, and tonnes of graphic editing just don't flow!

Thanks!

I love this post 'coz it's a typical fanboy response to anything, no offence or anything... every generation it's always been about who can look the prettiest everytime. THAT'S the old fashion part and all three companies are guilty of that. This, however, is totally new and no-one's done anything like it before. Sure it may flop, but unless someone takes that risk, we'll always conform to the same old boring pattern, and that's no fun ;)

Topic: Best webhost ever

Posted: 09/07/05 04:55 PM

Forum: General

Hey guys!

I don't post often on Newgrounds as of late, mostly 'coz I'm busy and 'coz I've not had any new flash animations in the making as of late. Anyways, I don't know if this is breaking any rules (I don't think it does since this "advertisement" is the first time and it involves the survival of members of NG's flash community) but, if it does, then I have no problems with it being locked. I also add that this advertisement isn't for my own site.

Anyways, My current site's webhost of one year, P42Hosting is looking for new sites to offer webspace for due to a bad couple of months of sites shutting down. They have fantastic site support (24/7), brilliant prices and 99.9% uptime with errors being fixed almost immediatly when they happen. I've had 3 webhosts and P42 is the only one I have stuck by with such loyalty, and the one I left to join P42 was run by a friend of mine!

They're dirt cheap too with prices starting at $2.50 a month for 500 meg of space and 1 gig of bandwidth, and give free hosting to their best referrers, as well as having a vast library of flash sites they host, including Krankzinnig Studio (the creator of Mario Reloaded!).

As I said, if this gets locked, that's only fair, but for any webhosts looking for a brilliant host with cheap prices, this gets 5/5 from me, and I'm fussy when it comes to hosts.

From the trailers I saw, it was mainly Anakin turning on people and I saw like a 3 second clip of Darth Vader... I think you're overreacting a tad.

I'm getting real sick of people believing everything they hear:

Nintendo representetive: "We'll release all info on the Revolution at E3 in May"
Gullible fuck: "Well let's wait for that then"
Sony/MS fanboy: "Nintendo Revolution will use DS's as controllers"
Gullible fuck: "OMG HOW GAY, I FUCKING HATE THE REVOLUTION NOW!"
Sony/MS fanboy: "And it'll have no D-Pad"
Gullible fuck: "OMG HOW SHIT! DS AS CONTROLLERS AND NO D-PAD!?"

Yes I've seen people believe BOTH these rumours and they fail to realise the DS HAS a fucking D-Pad and therefore they contradict each other.
