I don't really like mine anymore. I have used 'Blaze' on many sites for a while now, but it seems to common forcing me to add numbers to it. I wouldn't mind making a new account but I still havn't thought of a good name yet.

I hate how people are blaming video games for the violence. I found some sites on this:
1, 2, 3, and 4.

Since they seem to show violent games on FoxNews, we should make a really violent game about killing everyone at Fox News(This hasn't been done before right?). That should make it on TV. This would also be a good money making oppurtunity(sp?): if the game has a really good chance of making it on TV, how much would a sponsor pay?

So all you have to do is create a really violent game to be on TV? This is too easy! How about some game where you go into Fox News Headquarters and kill everyone!

And she wants proof that violent games cannot be a substitute real violence? I found a site a while ago about that, lets see if I can find it.

Probably not,

The animation game, is alot like the webdesign game.
Even If we get all the money, why wouldn't we work on our own project,
and get all the credit, instead of sharing it with someone who at most will do %5 of the work.

He is not asking for an animation. It's a game just click on the link he posted. Which means he is programming it and someone is doing the art. Normally it's 50/50 sometimes 40/60 but he is offering ALL money to the artist.

Posted: 06/30/08 08:58 PM

Forum: Flash

Well you should start with a story. To write a story you are gonna have to decide on your genre. While your writing your story you should be getting an idea of how your characters are gonna look. When you are done writing your script then you could make a storyboard or just start animating. Good luck.

I am not sure about flash but I am pretty sure in HTML that it is "_blank" and not "blank". I dought that would give that error though. Just try it.

It is good but the background colors blend in too much. Make the walls like a tanish-white and the carpet dark blue or something that doesnt blend in like that.

Okay.

You can use a mask. Use the text tool to type out the name. Then "mask" it frame by frame.

I have to fix my character first. Then I am gonna have to decide on what style of mouths to use. Then maybe I can make a quick animation.

Anyway, I am gonna go watch TV before bed. Bye.

It took me a while to start the animation. I kept thinking "No I am not ready yet; I need to find more tutorials". But there are not a whole lot of good tutorials. Finally I started the animation though. And judging by the comments, it looks like I did read enough tutorials.

Thanks.

Increase the FPS. That frame rate is an eye sore.

Ya, I forgot to change it to 24 FPS, and I realized it was at 12 after I deleted a few frames because it was too fast.

Try not to mix anatomy with stylization. The "muscles" look really... out of touch with the character.

Not sure exactly what you mean by this.

You did a good job with the background detail.

Thanks. I like the background too; the character not so much.

Try making less linear animation (in other words, the walking cycle is very dull and uninteresting). You could ease the tweens or throw in a little FBF for better animation effect.

I just realized I forgot too have the character bob up and down during his walk.

So far so good. Keep it up and you may be on to something great.

I hope so! :)

Thanks for your comment Short-Factor.

Your disclaimer says that the site is purely out of intrest yet in your download section it says your are collecting roms and emulators. Roms are illegal.

And the site isn't that good. Mainly the music is really annoying.

Also, in your games section it says that you are gonna make games yourself yet you are asking for coders here. And in one of your replies to a review of your site you said that you plan to release all the .fla files too.

I think it was really good. I think you you should be able to control your self in the air though. I got stuck on the level with the trampoline in the middle because the green orb got stuck on the trampoline :(

It's a good idea and could be very fun. Good luck.

Well, no. I'm saying it should shoot towards the mouse no matter how long ur holding the mouse button, and THEN you should be able to control it horizontally.

Oh I see, ya that would be better, and probably would have been easier. I can do that now.

At sometime johnfn wrote:

Cool idea, but the controls are pretty atrocious right now. I realize that's somewhat the point but really it shouldn't be to the point where it is just aggravating. Also, the ball is really big, which makes some things hard to maneuver. Also also, sometimes the green and red ones are practically on top of each other. That should be fixed as well.

Alright, I guess I can make the ball smaller. And I did stop the circles from overlapping but I haven't had it check if there were any circles near it.

And I just thought of something, when the circles start moving(green away from you, red toward you) is it okay that they will overlap then? Or should I stop them and make them just stay against each other.

Thanks guys.

So you prefer that the circle will shoot to the mouse after you have controled it horizontaly? I had that, but I thought that would have gotten annoying so I changed it. But I guess not, I can change it back then. Is that the only disappointing part? Or is their more that you just didn't say?

Thanks for your comment.

I just finished another version. This one has increased gravity after 2500 points and 5000 points. Also has the circles moving toward the player at 2500 and then faster at 5000.

Also, I know about the glitch when you hold the mouse button down when over a movie clip then off or just on the stage then onto a movie clip that the player will follow your mouse as if your mouse button is down.

And I think that the holding mouse down extra control thing messes up the movement sometimes so I am thinking about changing the mouse button to just move toward the mouse, so you can just hold the mouse button down instead of just clicking.

Not another game demo!
