Once when you leave, you might want to go to a homeless shelter.
Check google maps for any homeless shelters near your area.
Once when you get there just tell them you are 16 and you don't want to return home and ask them on how to survive, get jobs etc.
Or you can go to your school and ask about it.
Also if you are going to leave, make sure you bring all the essentials such as:
- a backpack
- spare clothes (including shoes and warm clothing)
- sleeping bags
- toiletries
- money (make sure you hide it all over your body so if you get robbed you will still have some cash. Example: coins go in your wallet and notes go inside pockets. Never put money in you backpack.)
- a mobile phone (if you have a pre-paid account or just bring extra coins for pay phones)
- food (in a water-proof container)
- water in a bottle
- some first-aid (if possible)
- something to defend your-self
and most importantly, some form of identification (birth certificates, passports etc.).
Alternatively, you could live in your backyard and raid the house if you need food.
Also, I think public libraries have computers which are available to the public which also have access to the internet at a low cost or something, you might be able to use them to get more info on how to survive.
