(damn this inability to edit posts)

I also took a look at your site and the tutorials there are amazing, especially the muzzle one, where have you been all this time?

Also, your name is written lightly on the guns, if I just cut them like that it'll appear right? how do I make it not appear?

menu
I don't know about anyone else, but I just feel it looks kind of 90s. It doesn't feel similar to the other other parts, and while the 3D is great, I don't think it works. Plus, its 7 megs, which is already over half of our size, and I'm hoping most of the parts will be pretty complex. I'd rather have a 2D menu than a 17 meg filesize honestly. Thats my opinion. Anyone else?

That's the problem with 3D, it's really big. I mean if you take a look at the .FLA you'd be surprised by the amount of symbols. When I export from 3D to flash, it converts every single bit of moment and makes it a symbol. So it's a ridicules frame by frame mode.

So I guess unless I find away to decrease the file size, im not in right?

Oh and by the way, without the moving background, it's only 4 mb....

Response to: Quick question! Posted November 25th, 2008 in Game Development

You drew it, but can you animate it? And why wait a year or so?

Response to: The Universe Collab Posted November 25th, 2008 in Game Development

If that's not working just download it here

Response to: The Universe Collab Posted November 25th, 2008 in Game Development

I've got some good news and bad news.

The good news is that I'm almost done with the menu.

The bad news is 3d flash is really heavy, takes a lot of RAM and the menu is a friggin 6mb!!!!!!!

So I doubt I could make another scene with 3d, i mean those two scenes alone would probably be like 7mb!!!!! So I guess I could probably do it 2d....

Anyway, here's the menu, and since i suck at art, you'll have to edit a little, like colours, re-position stuff etc.... Also you still have to put "the" and "collab"

Also there's no preloader, so wait a while... it's 6mb man!!!

yea sounds good, if your good at action script you should make the thing spin when you click on a planet, and the sun can be play

How about this:

-A background which has the sun, a few planets around it, and the scene is rotating.
-On top written : THE underneath it UNIVERSE with a planet rotating around it, then underneath it COLLAB then theres the earth standing still, when u move the mouse over it, it rotates (written on the earth is "play)

then there's scene select, which is another planet written on it scene select.

How does all that sound? anything else?

That would be SO COOL. How about the "Big light in sky goes boom!" or "Creation of our solar system?"

Two things, first of all, the song for the "Big light in sky goes boom!" is like...2 minutes, and how long do you want it to be? I mean the sun blowing up and another forming doesn't take that much.

Response to: The Minigame Madness Collab! Posted November 22nd, 2008 in Game Development

Hey i've been working on a warioware flash game for some time, made 11 mini-games so far. Not sure if they are good enough for this collab. Here it is: Warioware

The controls are, if it says mouse, then it's either click or drag, if it's keyboard, movement with UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT and any other actions with SPACE

there are 10 mini-games plus a boss one at the end. If you think one is good enough, or at least one has potential to be, I can fix it up and send. (because, frankly, each took me about an hour or less to make)

Response to: If life was a pizza. Posted November 16th, 2008 in General

Life IS a pizza. There are onions, tomatoes and of course cheese.

The onions are, as someone posted before, if you happen to hit one, you'll cry.

The tomatoes however taste great. The cheese is your neutral life status.

You keep on eating and eating, sometimes you cry, sometimes you enjoy the tomatoes, but in the end, the pizza is going to end soon. And once it does, there will be nothing left.

There are people that after eating it, leave some criticism for the pizza, more tomatoes, more cheese etc...

Some even leave new recipes, and some just leave nothing....

That my friends is life.

Very unlikely. 500-1000 years ago Europeans were just as religious as Arabs are now. That's an insignificant amount of time in terms of genetics. Besides, 1000 years ago, Europeans were probably MORE religious than the Arabs of the time (Arabs were actually doing some science back then).

Islam is just going through its own period of Dark Ages. Perhaps there will be a time when Muslims secularize, and religion will only play a minor part of their lives. However, it might be difficult getting there, considering how Islam demands complete submission and dedication to worship. Then again, that probably used to be the case for Christianity.

That would be both good and bad. But mostly bad though. The problem is that everyone thinks (and most of the muslims in Iraq and palestine) that Islam is all about fighting and killing until everyone is a muslim, which is 100% false. Islam even says to live in peace with other religions. And in our modern age, the "holy war" that everyone thinks he's doing, is only hindering Islam. The only kind of Jihad we should be practicing right now is preaching.

Also Islam doesn't demand "complete submission and dedication to worship" In fact, back in the early years of Islam, one of the friends of the prophet once saw a man who stayed all day and slept in the mosque, and so he asked him who take cares of you and give you money and food? He told him my brother, he replied with, your brother is closer to God than you are...

This shows that extreme dedication to worship is against Islam. Work IS worshiping God. Every thing we do in our lives (everything good, or even as simple as talking nicely) is a form of worshiping God.

If anybody actually follows Islam to the fullest, you probably wouldn't believe he was a Muslim.
Some wise guy (no sarcasm there) once said," If the Muslims actually became Muslims, people would look at Islam in a very much different perspective"

Islam says to seek out knowledge and science. And there is in fact scientific knowledge that has only been discovered recently that has been there in the Qur'an for thousands of years. For example saying that everything originated from water (the evolution theory) as well as saying that the sun is moving and shall one day stop at a certain place (
Solar Apex) And much much more as well as what you should do when encountering certain problems in life. Following Islam to the fullest, means getting the most out of life and beyond.

I haven't got time now, but later I'll share with you something which truly cemented by belief, my Coin theory. It basically proves that there is a an after life just as there is life on other.

About two hours later, I'll post it....

Response to: What keeps you motivated to animate Posted November 16th, 2008 in Game Development

I always ask myself this," Why am I doing this? Why am I wasting doing this?" If the answer is just to entertain people (even though my little company is 4 YOUR entertainment) then I immediately drop it and work on something else. I mean just wasting hours upon days upon weeks working hard on something just to entertain someone body is not a good idea.

However something like this which I did, gives you a moral, teaches you something. At least one of the 618 people that saw it learned something. Making games for fun, well as long as your programming (which has got lots of maths) then I'd say it was worth my time even if the game was just for fun.

However, there's a game that I'm working on, Super Luigi: The Cursed Mirror of Darkness one that would have incredibly long story and gameplay, with 3d cutscenes and should take me about a year to complete.. That I would not make just for fun. I would implement multiple morals and life lessons.

Y'know metal gear? I've learned alot from it, I've learned about philosophy, history, heck even some science from Otacon, now that's a game. A game that's fun, educational without being like those stupid kid shows...

....That and listening to some music while imagining the epic ending of Super Luigi. Then getting back to work, and unlike most of you, I love working in complete solitude and silence when programming....

Response to: ideas? Posted November 16th, 2008 in Game Development

Well you need to tell us what the game looks like first. Like if its sidescroll, top down or what?

A few things are your in a room, the ceiling starts coming down and you have to look for the key which is in a box under a tile and escape quickly (that's always been my favourite)

Also you could put trap doors, signs that lie. (like saying this way and it's a trap) y'know get creative...

well then, what about this. 15 seconds in google

That one I came across yesterday. I downloaded, tried to setup but 1 second through the setup it always closes suddenly. I heard this problem had something to do with vista.

Also I did what I wanted with snag it, but I would still like a Swf to Avi converter that works, or at least convert to Mpeg, or any other similar movie format.

There's www.media-convert.com but that doesn't work on swfs...

Any other converters?

I have been searching for two days for a something do this and nothing...

Does anyone know where I can download a free software that converts swf to avi? Or at least a trial that doesn't have a huge X in the middle.

Also if you happen to find a software with a keygen....

This is a series of mini-games...

Those are download links by the way...

I have also experimented in the past with platforming games and successfully made an engine. It is, however, unavailable at this time.

Also I use AS2

So i'd like to see a music video of that.
