It's emotional health, she just doesn't understand it from that perspective (or is playing that up). Having good record with society, having wronged no one, believing that you will be rewarded by God for your good work, and having good psychological/physical health are all components of "good spiritual health".

Response to: Does centrifugal gravity work? Posted August 11th, 2013 in General

Centrifugal force is the grade school introduction to what is actually called Centripetal Force in Physics. Centripetal Force has little to nothing to do with Gravity. Centripetal force is just captive momentum. The space station is spinning, the person inside it is carries along fo the ride as the force transfers from the actuators, along the structural spine of the space station, to the air, and the floor, and the body of the occupant. The person's body, and the air, are free to move around independent of the actuators and the structure because they're not chemically bonded to it. In a circular motion, that translates to their forward momentum being captured by the circular shape of the space station, simulating a "downward" force which can be tuned to approximate the downward force of Earth's environment. Their momentum is tangential to the momentum of the structure, and they're held by the structure.

You really, really, really should borrow a physics book from the library.

Does Vince Gilligan twist plotlines? They have at least 8 writers on staff, I wouldn't think large groups add twists often. Maybe dark turns... or something.

I've been predicting that "Walter White" dies, Heisenberg goes into hiding as Lambert. I guess it would make sense that Jesse is the big rival. Heisenberg wanted Jesse to have his own lab so that they could expand. Maybe Jesse starts cooking better than Heisenberg and taking his business; all bridges are burned as he learns about what really happened to Jane and Brock. Or something darker.

Except in this case, Makakov is an advocate of living a sober and productive lifestyle. I can't really disagree with that. People end up doing stupid things and getting his by cars while stoned, drunk, or whatever. If you want to take an intoxicant, you should still be responsible about it.

Weed is also wildly expensive. $10-30 a gram is nothing to sneeze at. Exaduz hit the nail on the head there.

Also OP: have you ever considered getting a bong? They're pretty sweet. :)

He's only 15.

Calm down.

That's not what the thread is supposed to be about. There are plenty of long winded threads about this already. Even if there weren't there are rules about derailing a thread into an argument. So stop doing that. You're discussing this young man's pipe which I know he already made another thread about but we're past that now. Talk about the damn pipe.

We are talking about the pipe. I just tackled the side-discussion by taking Exaduz's anecdotes and applying some common sense.

Both Makakov and I work with metals IRL, which is why we're in this thread to begin with. Our differences are that I have more experience with weed and he has more experience with welding.

I get that you're trying to keep the thread on topic, but despite shallow appearances: It already is. OP is underage, and talking openly about the health risks involved with smoking an illegal substance from a specific type of pipe. The conversation should cover all of the pertinent issues.

My Brother died when I was six. After the joint, he went to sleep, and never woke up. By the time people discovered him, it was too late to do anything. Doctors said it was some drug in his system. He smoked weed frequently, so it was pretty clear the joint was laced.

The first one is true as well. In the hospital, a full rape test was done on her. Some alcohol was in her, but mostly pot.
Both of those happened and I really have no reason to lie other than to be an asshole. I could have made up much better stories if I wanted to.

Here, you can see that lacing a joint is fully possible: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lacing_%28drugs%29

Here's what actually happened:

1. Your brother died from overdosing on a hard drug. Your parents didn't want it to happen again, so they preserved your innocence by telling you he had taken a "laced joint". Lacing joints is a very uncommon practice, because it gets you less high than if you were to do the two drugs separately. However, inner city gang members who deal drugs and don't care about the quantity wasted do have a tradition if lacing their own blunts with hard drugs like PCP or crack cocaine. Hard drug users are often also pot smokers and alcohol drinkers.

1A. You didn't post the article, police report, or obituary, which basically means it either didn't happen or the article contradicts the story your parents told you.

2. The female friend who was raped decided to hang out with a guy who was interested in breaking the law. Despite whatever assumptions you have about the effects of marijuana, it probably isn't the reason she was raped. People who are willing to break the law tend to have a vertical disregard for authority, and are willing to break others.

2A. You didn't post the article or police report, which basically means it either didn't happen or the article contradicts your story.

Smoking marijuana is considered to be safe, and safer than drinking alcohol, by health professionals and researchers... people who are interested in the truth of the matter.
It's considered dangerous by the DEA and law enforcement agencies, whose budget absolutely depends on it remaining illegal.

If weed were controlled, regulated, and taxed like alcohol, it would be impossible to find laced weed (which is already an extremely rare occurrence, but whatever). People with vertical disregard for the law wouldn't be attracted to smoking it, because it wouldn't be illegal. Gangs wouldn't be able to make millions of dollars selling Cartel weed, that money would be going to licensed farmers and the government.

Pretty simple stuff.

I'm not wasting an hour on that. It starts off by talking about Petrodollar Militantisn Theory vs Gold Standards, which is actually legitimate. America's dollar is backed by industry and an educated workforce, not a rare earth metal. Letting countries slide backwards to a gold standard would be terrible for the world economy. Developed countries should be evolving from gold standards to that sort of human-worth system.

Actually, wearing sandals without socks DOESN'T trap grime in between the straps because there's no CLOTH for both the SWEAT and DIRT to adhere TO.

Wearing socks under sandals traps dirt in between your foot and the straps, leading to a grungy mixture of foot sweat and grime which smells like a dead dog in a pile of whale shit.

That's not what we did. We made machines that accelerate quarks to just over half the speed of light, collide two opposing beams of those quarks at those energies, and produce particles which are theorized to be time-independent forms of matter. Feynman liked to say that antimatter was just matter moving backward along time's arrow, but that's probably not the case and he didn't actually believe it would lead to "time travel" as popular culture sees it. Modern M Theorists believe they're just rearranged forms of a series of multidimensional branes which permeate the entire universe.

Fuck you, GrampaSmith.
