i suggest you get an anti-spyware and scan your computer now, then regularly afterwards. Personally, I use Spybot Search & Destroy, but you have to be careful, as there IS a fake out there of said anti spyware. here's the link to the real one (if you don't trust me, i still suggest you ask a computer-savvy person around you to find one for you)

this is also a review site with more spyware removers/anti-virus softwares.

another thing about S&D is that it has immunization, which renders your computer "immune" to certain spywares and adwares, and you should re-apply immuniztion each time you download a patch as new spyware/addware keeps getting added to the list
