I have no clue where this is coming from or how it relates to this thread, but I'll address it to keep people from becoming misinformed:
The idea that pot has no medicinal purposes and that the medical uses are only an excuse to raise recreational availability is a common misconception. Different strains of the drug actually have a wide range of controls over the nervous system which arise from the levels of thousands of psychoactive confounds which vary from strain to strain. Pot oils can be used to modify brain activity, reduce pain, increase focus, increase awareness, and even increase creativity.
It's actually a lifesaver for some people.
However, potheads and drug use are so stigmatized by our culture that it's hard to accept these claims. Even when these claims are given by peer-reviewed scientists who are studying the effects of the drug within the rigors of the scientific method. We are likely to dismiss new information about substances we perceive as harmful drugs simply because we fear them.
