Hey, I'll try and help you out the best I can here if you still need it! :)

First of all, what genre of movie are you making? Is it a slapstick cartoon like Tom and Jerry or is it completely different, like a drama or something?

If we look at Tom and Jerry though:

Both Tom and Jerry talk with their bodies, meaning everything they do is incredibly exaggerated. This includes the characters facial expressions and the way in which they react to things which gives the characters personality without speaking. The times where Tom screams accentuates the pain because he breaks his silence in the loudest possible way.

I think this is the way to portray the characters in a voiceless video, really visually emotive.

This will help get the plot across I think. :/ I'm not too strong with producing coherent plots haha :P Watch more Tom and Jerry to see how they do it and watch some music videos that have a narrative to them, which is another thing, your use of sound will be very important to the overall movie!

The best thing to do is just make the animation and see how people react to it here on Newgrounds. When the reviews and the ratings come in you'll know what worked and what didn't! Then you can learn from this and your next animation will be even better :D
