Why are sports team names racist when named after something referring to a native american?
Because the history behind it is hurtful to the group it represents. No one cares that the Celtics or the Knicks may represent a stereotype from that group of people because it wasn't meant that way.
However, when a group of people names a team based off of stereotypes that were largely seen as offensive to Native Americans, not to mention I am sure most Natives didn't agree with it since, you know, those trekking west were killing them by the thousands, it needs to be changed.
How you don't get this, I will never know.
Of course if you're not that serious about it, then please carry on.
And it begins, here's another liberal with a misinformation campaign bandwagon.(apparently I can't just post without text, so I'll keep it minimal, from here out just one word if possible, this just explaination)
At least I in life experience have asked and talked to many native Americans unlike you probably have. There's some that find it offensive. To pander to a 5% minority that think it's offensive is pretty god damn liberal and stupid.
At least I know what Redskins really means and came from and didn't just make something up like a liberal would: this is you below basically
Furthermore I've been on Redskin forums asking and researching this and they say this really wasn't an issue up until Dan Snyder came into the picture. It's clearly some misinformation campaign, you can't take some word and just attach new meaning to it for your own agenda.

Ok, I had words here but I really gotta start here. I forgot liberals like this one can't read what I said about what Redskins actually means and just wants to jump on the bandwagon of misinformation. This you below:
