Wanna bet? They may not walk in and open fire on the crowds, but mass arrests are not out of the question. Cuff them and ship them back to the mainland to stand trial. If the local police won't, the military will.

Hong Kong belongs to China and China doesn't tolerate dissent. The best way to silence stubborn dissent is to forcefully silence the protestors. Be it by kangaroo court, or simply gunning them down, China will silence them in due time, especially if the crowds keep growing.

They don't have to silence them all, but once enough of them are made an example of, the others will shut up out of fear for their own safety and the safety of their families.
