even if you can justify the latter part of the sentence, why should hong kong be held responsible for what china does? hong kong has its own government and remains distinct from china under "one country, two systems" policy.
One country, two system until China decides otherwise. The thing you don't seem to understand is that unless China cracking down on protestors and disassembling the "two systems" concept is going to rile up corporations and turn them against China, then China isn't going to bow easily.
China knows the USA isn't going to stop them, the UK can't stop them, and Russia and India most likely doesn't care.
Who does that leave?

It's the Ukraine situation all over again. Politicians may talk big, and demand China stop, but unless someone decides to actually DO something, China is free to do as it pleases.
