Are you gonna make remakes of the other Banjo Kazooie levels?

"How did you make this?"

date: October 7, 2006

This song sounds a lot like the original with just a few effects added here and there. I'm just wondering how you are making these. Did you import a MIDI and then change up some things? Did you take an MP3 of the song and then alter it? It sounds so much like the original. A lot of your songs are like this, but have some alterations, some done better than others. That's not really what a remix is. Try making your remixes a little more original and stop with the small differences from the original. I'm not gonna vote on this until I know how you made this.

Author's Response:

I get that alot. ^_^'
Here's a response from an email. I'm getting sick of typing it out, so now; every time someone asks... I'm just copy pasting...
"Actually, to be completely honest, I like to think of myself as more of a restoration artist, than a remix artist. Some songs I do remix, but mostly, I attempt to re-capture the original impact that the song had; if not amplify it. If you think that's a waste of time, then take a look at the numbers of some of my downloads. There's alot of demand for it, even if you yourself don't care. I personally enjoy listening to realistic versions of classic songs I grew up with. Who cares whether or not it's creative, if people enjoy it?
Plus, the main reason I started an account as LightOtaku (aside to prove that remix/restoration artists get more attention than original ones), was to better understand the workings of orchestral music. When I restore a song, I take the midi... Disect it... Look at every individual part, and I experiment with it. I take a look at what emotional effects certain instruments have, and why they have said effect. I do this to better my own original work."
