Full orchestras can be overwhelming sometimes, I always like working small and adding as I go. If you compose for a smaller group of instruments, you get to know each instrument better and that helps a lot in orchestral composition.

But before I break down into lectures, thanks a ton for the review!

Your absolutely right in your suggestion, the phrasing was very open to misinterpretation. My apologies about that. I reacted strongly to the review below, but on a certain level I maintain that to make such an accusation publicly one must delve deeper.

But with that aside, this was written for:

Hmmm never thought about putting it in the MAC tho. For some reason I'm just not feeling particularly inspired to submit to the MAC.

Generally speaking this was a pretty idle piece, the phrases and dynamics work on a more microscopic scale, and the instrumentation is limited and not exploited fully. Nevertheless, what redeemed this piece in my eyes the most was its harmonic complexity in numerous parts (such as harp arpeggios on the third instance of the first melody). The harmonies were subtle touches when placed in this kind of dreamy, Nutcracker-y (as you mentioned) style, but always fun to experiment with.

Anyhoo, sorry about the tangents, thanks for the awesome review. :P

Look, I know everyone's all like "oh noes! stolen audio everywhere!" but don't be a presumptuous idiot about it. Both this and Among the Ruins are original tracks by me written for the soundtrack of the game BoF Online.

Where did I say, "I did not compose this track"? I don't seem to recall every mentioning that.

So next time you want to make that accusation, try going about it a little more logically. In this case, that might include visiting the website. It becomes apparent immediately that it's a game. I've already stated that these are from the game soundtrack, so you might wonder, did Simon F. actually compose music for this game? So then, conveniently, there's a "Development Team" link on the left hand side. Well, what a shocker, there I am!

So, in summary, please think before you say something? It doesn't do honest artists any good if people are being idiots and making stupid assumptions based on loose interpretations that they take as a basis for factual evidence.
