Never heard the original but its always nice to hear a nice crisp 8 bit track. Synths are indeed 8bit, it has that genuine fuzziness and lo-fi sound. They also have a nice release fx. Drums are really nice, especially when you chop them up.
As for the composition, its really great. Not sure how much you changed from the original tho.
