"i am beginning to dislike stereo sound.."

date: April 10, 2008

Well the intro is the best part imho, but the est of the song is quite enjoyable. A little loud on the synth at around :50ish when it comes in there, could be more breaks in the loud synth, good use of drums and crowd and i like the piano sounding thing, lovely melody on it and the trianglely woodwind thing. It would help me greatly if stuff stopped movin around my head tho, its good for the opening but after about 30 sec you could slowly calm it down till it stopped, i think thats the single biggest improvement u could make on it.

you still do awesome simply cause of ur melodies, i love them

"nice and upbeat"

date: March 10, 2008

At some points in time the synth panning began to become more of a nuisance than a good sound. You should try to limit panning effects so that it doesn't become too annoying in longer songs like this.

The ending was probably the best part i'd say.

Using that synth (the one i mentioned..) in the beginning especially was good.

Overall, a good tune.

"Really cheery melody. Uplifting vibe,"

by: Bezman
date: March 10, 2008

I enjoyed the upbeat cheery melody. It's something I could almost imagine hearing in a club if it weren't for the slowdowns.

I felt the 'buzzy' synth was a bit too overpowering, but enjoyed the fast pace and variations on the basic melody. Some stereo effects were cool, but having the constant panning from left to right started to feel a bit overused, boring and 'cheap' after a while when it was the focus.

Conversely, when there was loads else going on (like near the end), it just made for an added adrenalin rush.

I liked the various instruments you've got - crowd, piano, some bubbly noises, whistly synth...

Just maybe lower the buzzy synth's volume a tad, don't use the panning so much throughout and maybe keep up the tempo.

A probable keeper.

Ta.

"Great"

by: Shanus
date: March 9, 2008

I really liked it, very technical with lots going on, but never seems crowded, except when it's meant to. Great techno sound. I especially loved the build up, great feel off it and a great way to start and liked how you used that same bit over and over again. Kinda had a little retro feel too, great job

"The panning made me confused at some parts."

by: Jurian

I don't have any complaints beside the panning. Try keeping like the bass, drum and one higher synth centered. Other than that GREAT JOB.

"Awesome! Some thing to be altered."

date: March 8, 2008

- Good stuff -
When it kicked off it was awesome, there was so many things going on and I'm not saying that as a bad thing, the pannings were great and there wasn't anything too over-powered. For a song of this length there was alot of variation. My favourite part fo the song defintley has to be the centeral part of it.
This would be great for a Rhythm game because it has alot of things the flash artist could add to the script 'n such.

- Bad suttf
Around 2 mins there was some over-pitched notes they were much too shrill, toning them down a bit would of been very nice. When there was a change into something else it had that swish noise panning, I felt that was way too loud.
It was a bit too much of the same throughout the song.
I was expecting a better loop, it cut off on the last great note.

Thanks for the review.
When I can bother myself to give this a makeover, I'll go over the mixing much more thoroughly, and I'll hopefully make that -Bad Stuff- paragraph a little smaller. Cheers.

"Very Long"

date: March 8, 2008

Well the first thing I must say is that this is a very long track, one of the longest I have probably seen here, so it's intresting to hear everything that goes on in this track. It seems to be pretty diffrent through most part of it which is good, you have a constant sound for a long point which seems to pass through left and right speakers, of course I have headphones on, so it might be a little more noticable to me, but it sounds nice, tickles my ears, lmao.

At parts it disapears to change to something else, the way that changes is done pretty well, then there is the part where it goes on and off while spaning, which is very good. I can hear something like an audiance cheering in the background at parts too, not sure if that's what it is but that certainly fits into the whole track too.

Although I can't really say it reminds me much about summer, you could explain that to me if you want, lol. Though it is very upbeat, something summer isn't to me, I hate summer, too hot, but that aside. The whole tune is very upbeat and very easy to listen too as well as being mostly diffrent though many aspecs through the tune seem to repeat in a way but the way it changes kind of makes you forget that you've heard it earlier.

The ending to this is also very good, I wasn't expecting a loop here, so that's good, lmao. Overall it's very long, but well worth the time to listen too all the way through, this is arguably one of the best tracks I have heard in the audio portal for a long while, great work.

Author's Response:

OMG thanks for the nice review! Yeah, that's a crowd in there. The way the panning worked was a new technique I learned, and I really like the sound of the bass entirely at one end of the headphones, but quite a few people don't like it, so I'll probably tweak it around a bit, but essentially keep it there in some parts. I kind of pictured this as summer, because, being an Australian, our typical summer is going to the beach often, lots of fun and activity, and the flute/wind sound has a nostalgic sound to it, in which it's like looking back on those times as a fun, energetic experience.
Overall, thanks for the compliments.

"Nice"

by: Coop83
date: March 8, 2008

A little on the repetitive side, but i do really like the crowd sounds that you added at the start - almost Ibiza in it's simplicity, but I feel that it's not quite got enough bass to take care of that particular island paradise for sexually transmitted disease trading :P

The melody was quite nice, with some sort of wierd effect over the notes, which tended to affect my enjoyment of the track in a negative way. After about 3 plays, I'm beginning to see why I'm not exactly a fan of this type of music. It's difficult to concentrate on, so would be ideal as a concentration breaking track on some sort of puzzle game.

Thanks for the review, you made some good points. They've been noted, and hopefully, when I can be bothered to get off my fat lazy ass (lol stereotype, I'm not really fat =P) I'll be able to make this a bit better.
Cheers.

Another masterpiece piece of trance. The waves of the sound, the backgroundplaying piano, the melody, peaceful and varied. Reminds me of Pokemon, heh, would probably fit nicely is somekind of oldschool RPG battle, keep it going!

"Not bad..."

date: March 5, 2008

The piano is preety cool, nice for the intro but is plain, spice it up a bit!
The cheering crowd i dont like sorry and the whirring/buzzing noise sorta wrecks my head a bit. The high pitched..flute? sounds are nice and have nice effect.

The moving of the audio from left to right is a bit mind blowing...and can confuse you. Although its not all bad :-)
It has the ability to be a very good song if you fix some of the minor problems and lessen bass. Too much bass.
