Could of just said (Karco Remix) =P

Anyways, a strong song in my opinion, mostly because I just love Piano, and you seem to have a fitting sample in there. Have to give props to you on that =P

But yeah, once the synth took over the Piano, sounded pretty good. Might mention to put a secondary melody in there, just for some entertainment wise, otherwise I'm just hearing the melody go on for quite some time.

May I ask who made the original?

November 29, 2007

Author's Response:

I could have, but I made the original, so it wouldn't have made sense, would it? :P

Yep, the melody goes on for quite a while - this is a remix, after all, and this melody is all the original had. And I didn't kill myself over the diversity anyways as this song would never have gotten finished if I did. :\

Again, I made the original - this is where I was originally planning to take it back in April, but I didn't have the necessary resources or experience and it eventually took off in a completely different direction. I submitted a shortened version you can check out but I doubt you'll be nearly as impressed. :P

Thanks for the review and the high ratings - glad you liked it! :D

"nice work :D"

date: November 28, 2007

woah o.O this is really nice. it kinda reminds me of the snowy multiplayer level from the timesplitters series. i love how the drums are mastered, they are perfectly placed and serves its purpose without overkilling the rest of the song. i diddnt know you did such awesome tracks :D im kinda ashamed not to visit your audio page sooner. one thing tho, is this a remix of one of your songs, or someone elses? cause i dont know the original, in any case. but this was really well made, and a pleasure to listen to! altho i diddnt like the trance leads so much, they were maybe a bit to controling and hard. otherwise, a great submition!

November 29, 2007

Author's Response:

Glad you like it! :D Personally I like the drums too - they were a bit tricky to master so I'm glad you think they came out well! And don't feel ashamed, it's not like I'm particularly famous or anything here on NG, right? Though I'd definitely like to be. ;D This is a remix of an older song of mine I submitted last April, though not in the usual sense - this also represents the direction I originally was planning to take the song, if it weren't for the lack of resources and skill level, and the fact that it took off in a completely different direction the first time. :D Hmm, that lead of mine seems to be something some people like, and some people don't. Personally I'm fine with it (why else would it be in this song, right? ;D) but, ah well. Not every song is perfect. :P Thanks for reviewing! :)

"Hmm. Hard one.."

Well, in my opinion, this was more dance than trance, because i think that a classic trance track would have to be happy and bouncy, but this is just more bouncy. Needs some happy hardcore, if you look in the preset folder in FL (if you use FL that is) and look under the TS404 folder, and use Happy Hardcore 1-3 as a bass and edit it a bit. As for it being a remix, i have never heard the song you used as a base, so i cant comment on that really. overall, it was good and entertaining. GJ

Author's Response:

I'm going to have to disagree with you there - this is a bit fast and powerful for a trance song, but it is one nevertheless. Try looking at the links I've posted in my latest news post, all of those are trance songs but not all of them are happy and/or bouncy.

I use FL Studio, but I don't use TS404 at all, nor do I base my synths off of FL Studio presets. ;) I use Nexus and I'm pretty sure that nearly all of its synths are better than anything I could make with TS404. Still... I'll look at that preset sometime.

Now I didn't see much of that original there, it was more of a piano thang in the beginning then it evolved into a bit of trance that didn't resemble falling farther much at all- well anywhee, it changed its mind after a while into a HUGE GODDAMN MIDDLE PART which to me was way longer than it should. And then it went all bombin' with a supersaw awesoming up the melody. Outro also was bit too long for my tasty.

So well alright then, I DID see a bit of the original there, guess it woulda been way too repetitive if you used the melody more, cause it ain't too much of a varied melody to begin with. I'd really really love to hear a more present, less filtered piano thoe

Bah I don't have much to add. Everything seems perfecly fine to me.
Yeah

Sorry for coming so short with teh improvmentz zuggestionz D:

November 28, 2007

Author's Response:

The original is there - in the sense that this is where I originally wanted to take this song. Yeah, the middle part was repetitive. D: Again, I didn't kill myself over the diversity and I'm not going to go back and fix it now. :\

The filtered piano is an idea I took from the original, though I guess I could have chosen a "meatier" piano sample, if you know what I mean - now that I think about it, the one that I chose felt a bit thin and weak.

Nah, it's fine, reviews are always appreciated - thanks for reviewing, and for the high ratings! :D

wow really great song, especially the piano is cool! great arrangement!

the only thing i didn't like is at ~3:55 the synth. NO the synth is great but it needs a massdelay and a massreverb!!^^ the cooles thing would be, if you sidechain the delay and reverb channel so it gets a lil delay time.

but anyway a great song!! ^^ 10/10-5/5

Author's Response:

Glad you like it! :D I'd have to disagree on the synth, I think it's just fine - personally I don't think delay is what it needs, though reverb might work. And... the sidechaining thing, I'm not THAT advanced, I don't know how to do that yet, but I can play around and see what I can come up with sometime. :P Thanks for the high ratings and the review!

"Cool"

date: November 21, 2007

I love the piano, synths are cool, percussion is fitting. Ooh, sexy synth coming in at 4:00.
Have to agree about the repetitive-ness of it. I would suggest making it a bit shorter if you don't want to spend more time keeping it diverse. It's not too bad though, just a little repetitive, it IS trance, so a little is ok.
Good job.
I'll give you a 5/5 for that and a cookie, enjoy!

November 21, 2007

Author's Response:

I COULD make it shorter, but not by too much - a minute, tops. :\ Not enough to clear the issue of diversity. And I'm tired enough of working on this one, so I won't bother. XD

Thanks for the high ratings and the review! Glad you liked it! :)

It's astonishing how there are so many insane tracks here on Newgrounds that should be playing at the clubs. Or in video games, whatever. This is one of those that really grab you.

Author's Response:

Eh, I'm not THAT good. Yet. :P Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for reviewing!

"yummy"

date: November 21, 2007

Yet again, a perfectly mixed song.
I love the oldskool voice pad.
The drum and bass fit very well.
The song's a tad repetitive, though.
Not bad in all. Keep it up.

November 21, 2007

Author's Response:

Glad you like it so much - the voice pad was inspired by First & Andre's song Widescreen, which used a similar synth.

There's no drum and bass in this, just standard trance percussion with a self-made hihat line. o_O

Again, like I said in my news post, I didn't kill myself over the diversity because otherwise the song would never have gotten finished.

Thanks for the review! :)
