Very intricate counterpoint in this one. You seem to have a very interesting mix of the baroque-style small string ensemble (violins and cello? i'm hoping for a viola!!) counterpoint is great. This, however, does not take too much from the baroque style--instead, it displays its own, quite unique new sound style. Some interesting intervals and chord changes make it not so traditional and a bit more progressive, a bit more experimental--not to a point that it's unbearable, but enough to make it new, to make it exciting, and to make it something worth listening to plenty more than once. I think, if you'd lengthen this song, I can think of some great later sections in which you can use some arco (bow) instruments rather than just pizzicato, maybe with the cello doing the same walking rhythms it's already doing, but overlay some flowing violin melodies and harmonies on top. Just a suggestion! It's just what I hear that you could do with it :)
But, my personal rantings aside, a great job on the arrangement and composition. What kinds of music software do you use? The solo strings don't sound too bad at all!

Author's Response:
I use Garageband for pretty much all of my music. I hate it, but it's all I've got.
Occasionally I'll get on my pc and use sonar, however.
Thanks for the review, although I doubt I'll ever remix this again. I hate this song. The original is far too popular for my liking. Most people who have heard Toccata per Rollins probably don't know that I wrote it.
Thanks again.
Anyway, thanks!
