Enjoy the awesome icon too, it's a character that will appear in Æsir(animated not 8-bit).

"not 8-bit"

this is more from the classic days of doom because it uses midi format instruments. Not bad though.

Author's Response:

It's not "from" anything, rather inspired by Bionic Commando.

"Is this Bionic Commando?!"

Dude, you made my day. Awesome song from an awesome game.

I was just playing this game this morning... (yes, I actually own the game, belive it or not; box, manual, and all)

You replicated the song nicely. Guitar wasn't overpowering, and I like that!

The marraca-like instrument got a bit annoying after hearing the song a few times. For me, it doesn't do the song justice. Speaking of which, the looping is noticibly off...

Definately not a typical 8-bit song, but still has the feel of one. Could you give me some examples of games that actually sounded like this?

This song doesn't have the impact like the original song, but don't let that get you down. Keep it up! Oh, and do more songs from the game. This isn't exactly the most memorable one.

And am I the only one who knows which game this is from? (aside from the author)

For those unfortunate of not experiencing the old days, lemmie give a few hints:

It's from Capcom
The hero can't jump
The boss is Master-D, though he LOOKS like somebody else...

If you haven't guessed already, the game's name is in the title of this review!

Author's Response:

Ah nice ear for 8-bit, I might do more eh "interpretations" of Bionic Commando seeing as it has one of the more memorable soundtracks of the time period. As for similar sounding 8-bit games Guardian Legend, Klax, and Rygar had more complex sounds to them.

It's a great loop. Not very much like 8-bit game, though. Reminds me of SNES music more, because of 8-bit games using mostly square and noise waves. Ok, I'll shut up about that; this song is good. Sounds very professional when compared to games of the time period.

Author's Response:

Actually the Ricoh 2A03 on the original NES or Famicon would be more than capable of reproducing this, it's just only a handful of games took full advantage of it.

It feels like music from an rpg from the glory days of the NES.
