"Let's see..."

date: April 4, 2008

The wolves gather, silently, in a circle around him. He glances around, unsure of what, precisely, he should do. Fear begins to circle his soul like the snow tossed around the mountain valley, deep in midwinter. He knows this is his last charge, his moment of heroism. The wolves know, too. They know that they are hungry, and that this is prey. They know that he will take one or two of them down with him, maybe, and they respect this.
They know that this is like nothing they have ever killed before, and bow their heads at the same moment they raise their hackles, showing their respect for their kill. As another pack whines in the distance, signalling its own assault, so does this one leap forward on the attack.
These are his last breaths, and his finest. This is the climax of his life. Quickly, easily and without rage, he goes to war.
This is how a hero fights.
Without rage and without fear.

"Here goes nothing..."

date: February 28, 2008

A cold wind swept the mountains. Wolf howls are heard in the distance. They reflected of the mountain paths, carrying on for hours. However the iwnd also carried the sound of clanking metal as armed warriors met. Two factions, screaming at the other in rage, calling for blood. Soon the clanking metal turns to ringing as blades meet, showering the ground in millions of sparks. A wolf howls as men fall, screaming in agony. The screams call for wives, children, God, and for death. One faction swiftly gains the upper hand, hacking done the foe. Blood turns the fresh snow into boiling pools of red. When mourning comes the victors collect the wounded, leave the dead, and prepare to depart. Still the screams of men are heard, all crying out in pain, some for loss, others for fear. The crows quickly decend upon them. A wolf howls one final time, and the victors cheer as they leave the blood-stained ridge.

It is rather geeky, lol, very good song though =).
