Awesome song!

Evil-Dog is, without a doubt, the best audio artist ever.

Evil-Dog responds:

I don't think so but thanks :)

Great.

I'll have to listen to some of your earlier stuff to see how you've progressed.

Anyway, this here is a great song. Don't be modest, I'm being quite serious. I'm modest about my songs, but you really shouldn't be about yours. you've got a gift here, and you've done what great musicians do. They make great music. XD.

Great music is not about "hey, this song has hot lyrics" or "ohmigod their lead singer is so hot". It's truly about making you think. Making you feel. This song really connected with me, or I with it, I'm still unsure which, but somehow I find myself in love with this thing. Keep up the good work, and the good fight.

Evil-Dog responds:

I like your perspective on music :) thanks for the review :)

Nice stuff. It was quite good.

Yeah, i`d say it was real good, i quite liked it, i would download it but the only thing is my computer is going wrong at the moment and not being able to download stuff. So i will hope to get this soon. Oh plus, are you a real dog?

Evil-Dog responds:

Of course I'm a real god
I needed surgery on my paws to play the piano and guitar, but it was worth it
Good luck with your computer!
Warf!

A step in a new direction, which is always good.

To be honest i'm not really feeling the song itself, but i get the feeling that maybe i'm not supposed too? Listening to this really brings out all your past experience, the sounds you've got in this are amazing, are they all midi or are any of them live recorded?

Anyhow, it sounds like you didn't intend this to be a stand alone song like the last stand (Which i'm a huge fan of) but rather your hoping this track will be put to use in a flash animation/ game? Because of which you kinda put all your effort into making the instruments you have sound amazing and not put too much effort into the actual music writing, kinda keep it simple, but very clean.

I'm probably entirely wrong and i hope you don't take it offensively because it isn't meant to be. A good artist can manage amazing epic songs (The last stand :D) but a great artist knows how to make a subtle piece of music that sounds like its willing to hand over main focus of attention to something else (In this case animation) which this piece is beyond perfect for.

If there is any justice in the world one day this piece of music should be part of a flash thats #1 in the flash portal, but i'd really hate to say it but i don't think its worthy of being #1 in the audio portal, however i'd love to see it happen anyway.

But then again i guess this is just some confliction between whether or not the audio portal is meant to be used for people submitting there own creations for feedback or just for a wee bit of exposure, or whether its meant to be flash portal's bitch, and sometimes i worry its the second one :S

Great work as ever, this is the second time i've reviewed your work so i guess you just got +1 fan.

One thing i just want to say is that i would love to hear a track where you took on the role of producer and didn't write any of the music yourself, you merely recorded someone and then put in all the effects afterwards. Have you ever thought about doing this? ... Or have you already done it and i just haven't found it yet :S

Evil-Dog responds:

That'S quite a review, full of assumptions too :)
but it's ok...I'll answer your points
it's all midi and done with reason 3
as for not feeling the song it's really a personnal thing I guess....some people had shivers when hearing it and other people will go "meh" , music tastes are very diverse

When I make music I don't really think about how it's gonna be used, if it should have a strong presence as a stand alone song or fit a particular mood, hoping it's gonna be used a certain way....I just make music cause I love it, I compose what comes to my mind, it comes in different shapes and sizes...for sure I'm very inspired by music from games and movies so the "feeling" of this song is definitly oriented toward that...

Saying that I didn't put much effort into the music itself and only the instruments is kinda insulting...yet I'm not offended.
Simple doesn't mean easy, it's certainly not the most complicated piece ever written but still have interesting mixes of melodies between the different instruments

I don'T think it's worth being #1 in the audio portal either but I think it has a pretty good production quality
I'm not really interested in ranks and scores and shit, I love feedback though so thanks for the big review.
I think everybody has a different use for the audio portal, I personnaly simply like to share my music and get feedback

And finally, where would be the fun in being a producer, I'd rather make the music myself :)
