...Beautiful.....stirs the soul

I cannot put into words how this makes me feel. I get a steely...resolve in my chest...a confidence that goes deep....its stirs what has lain dormant in so many of us. Then, a sadness, a longing took it's place, and.....Thank you, for this. Thank you......

I have a small story for this...

A old man stands in front of his house, watching as the sun rises so far away. A old sword is clutched in his hands, and he takes a moment to look at it. He quietly whispers "Do not forget me....Do not forget what I've done...." As the sun breaks over him, you can see a vision of the man he once was, standing tall with the sword in his hand, staring at the same sun so long ago...back then. A single tear rolls down the mans cheek as he stands there, watching..waiting for something. As one, the old man and his other self clutch the sword to their chest, and the memory fades into the light, along with the old man.

That is what it makes me think of, I actually started to cry a bit. This has stirred me in a way nothing else has.

Hello Link.

I don't rightly know how to respond to this review to be honest. Your story was one that moved me deeply. I am an avid fan of these types of scenes, I wish I had thought of something like this while I was making the piece. It stirs up so many ideas and emotions, I thank you for that!

Great pride, great sorrow... this man was not ready to end his journeys. Age came too quickly for him, and brittleness stole his ability. However all of that failed to take his strength.

My absolute favorite part of this story stems from the last sentence "As one, the old man and his other self clutch the sword to their chest, and the memory fades into the light, along with the old man."

I sat here for an hour, and lived through this man's life. Made for him a story, his background, adventures. I'll be honest with you, I had stopped giving my characters in my head names, in order to make it easier to forget them and move onto another project, but I simply could not this time. It saddened me to see him go, but such is the way of life.

Thank you greatly for this review, this story and these ideas. Thank you again for the review! I am glad you found a place in your heart for this piece.

... Deep.

Your work is just really. Deep. Almost all your tunes inspire me. I just think up stories in my head to go along with the songs. I love your work. Keep it up.

MaestroRage responds:

I am glad you think of stories as you listen to them, for that is exactly what I hope to achieve with every piece. To let you think and dream of another place.

I'm glad you liked it, thank you for the review, I will definitely keep this going for as long as I can.

Whoo!

Children sit around an old storyteller, listening to the tales of past heroes who fought for reasons still too complex for the children to understand. And in their imaginative heads, they see the heroes they are told of standing tall and wanting one thing: for the future to remember what they did.

That's what this makes me think of. In the beginning, it's the children listening, and as the music grows stronger, I imagine the heroes too. Then, it goes back to the children.

Nice work on this. I've listened to it three times already, and I still get a fuzzy feeling inside. An inspiration of sorts. Definitely worth a 5/5, and a 10/10.

MaestroRage responds:

You have the image right on Lenlyra! There is actually 2 prominant images in this song, the first is as you stated, children around an old man who told them of great men and women that changed the world with the strength of their backs and lengths of their minds!

The second, is that of a group of elders, all laying in bed, not in the same place, i'm thinking of different places. They all have the one desire that, for all, is the same.

To remember them. Their lives, their achievements, their entire story. So that they may continue to live, so that the future can learn from the past. So if only for a few more years, they are not but a stone in the ground...

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Review time rofl

This is a very nicely done song, Mr. Rage. Congrats! Lol

The mood this creates is very nice, let me start off by saying. It really does feel like something you would hear whilst traversing a medieval landscape : D

And now let me tell you what this makes me think of. The wind is gentle as it plays with the tree branches and ruffles the main guy's hair. And then - the brass - he starts feeling noble for some reason and then his quest like begins and stuff. The strings are really making it feel like an important quest. He doesn't need a horse - his legs will do just fine. Over many hills he travels. And then it calms down again - he's camping out at night in some mountainous place, a fire slowly burning.

And then the mandolins. I was like >: D Nice touch! At this point he begins to feel some kind of longing in his heart :' ( He's not too sure what it is - this is represented by the main theme again. It is not a clearly defined theme, but more of a feeling, just like what's going on in his heart. Does he want to go on with this quest?

And then he stands as before. The wind caresses him. Encourages him. He goes on.

I do love the ending, nice and calm and consistent with the mood. This song can be relaxing and enpowering. Nicely done.

A very nice job, Maestro. 9/10 but a 5/5 from the me.

Rocky

MaestroRage responds:

When did this review get here?! I say sir, I have missed it :(. I apologize. If it wasn't hard enough to keep track of reviews before the redesign, GOD HELP ME NOW >:(!!! I hope they change that soon.

This song to be honest, can't be used in the contest, because it's over 2 minutes! I have to make a MAC edit for it soon! OH NOES I SAY! OH NOES!

Also his legs are made out of Chuck Norris. They'll do JUST fine thank you.

The edit will cut out much of the calm parts, as they just won't fit in within the time frame, but I do appreciate the review MR! Thankies for it. I'm glad you liked it ^^.

yay koto

wait- nay koto - actually I hate koto's - here it just sounds thin... but that's just my opinion.

Well except for that...

Jesus Christ what a massive orchestral monster! It seems to aggressively boost in volume and power when the strings get started.

Okay, the drummage here is great. Makes a very dramatical feeling. What samples do you use? cause I'm considering to buy/get some orchestral refill (which should include orchestral percussion)

Tubular bells yay.

Choir is a tad low when all that orchestral stuff comes right in my face. Yes, what samples do you use for you choir too.

Fantastic work as usual man. Good luck in the contest!

MaestroRage responds:

You don't like the Koto?!

:O?

Well I guess thats understandable. Then I suppose you don't like the Mandalin either. The two sound quite similar.

The orchestra samples are all East West Symphonic Orchestra Gold PRO. I do not think there is a refill for it. The percussion comes purely from that also. It's a 35 gig monster.

The choir in this was a mix and match of a few choirs. The dominant force behind it though is East West Symphonic Choirs!

I'm glad you liked the piece SBB, thank you for the review, and for the good luck!
