I liked how you added the excessive amount of drum claps near the beginning, and the (somewhat) of a mellow flute quickly passing by. It was fast-paced, which is something that is always good, even if this is just a tribute to a 2D side-scroller of a game. I'm still not sure what game this music is from, but that's okay.
The quality of this was very good, so no worries there. Taking out the multiple drum claps near the beginning of the song was a good idea, as it gave the listener a chance to rest their ears from the heavy bass, and than resume listening when the track itself, got back on track.
Overall, good job and effort here.
