This too was quite great

I really like this piece. It reminds me of those pretty remorseful days. Like gazing upon the most wonderful scene, in which the thing most precious to you was destroyed. Be it a lover, a close friend, an item of great value, something that lingers great pain to great happiness.

It's rather short, but thats okay, for what is there, it is quite something else.

The oboe leading drive was a perfect choice for this song. There is a bassoon in the background? Clarinet maybe? I do not recognize that instrument playing with the background chords, but that too aids the song.

In my own personal taste I would have preferred to hear a flute and oboe duet later on in the song, to express the beauty side of this song more, for that is what I feel when I hear it. Sadness, and Joy. Bitter harmony.

The ending was well created. A soft fade out would have worked also, but this too was acceptable.

I also wonder, what if some trumpets/trombones were playing with or even playing a counter melody with the oboe? It would produce a more military requiem kind of feel, which may not be what you want at all, but it is a suggestion none the less.

I Liked this song, like all your others Beacon. I look forward to new pieces from you! I'd also like to invite you to check out some of my work sometime! Keep up the good fight and keep them coming!

Beacon515L responds:

Thanks.

It's a bass clarinet, just so you know.

I might do a military thing...

And your work is brilliant.

Thanks for reviewing!

Very nice...

Very nice, it sounds very medieval like

Beacon515L responds:

Well, it started out as my attempt to write a baroque piece, so it could be called "medieval."
Tens across the board? No way!
Thanks for reviewing!

Another nice piece from a budding composer

This is my style. Some of the notes go so long, that when its played at my funeral, ill take a few people with me. LOL

Beacon515L responds:

Exactly the point. LOL XD
