A flute that sounds like a train and atmospheric ambience over it all... good stuff

this is a good song but you made it wierd by putting in the harmonica, i have been listinging to your songs and i want to say that they are very good and i love soundscapes and stuff like that, but they do get repetitive after a while.

I dunno if id say it sounds like a TRAIN.. you need the ca-chunk ca-chunk noise for it to sound like a train..

I always find it hard to review music like this - I like the instrument that comes in around :50 - its nice and warm in its presence..but i found that weird 8-bitty sawwwey sound over it kind of ruins it.. its too loud and present imo.. you get used to it I suppose...

I could see that instrument benefiting from some point-panning - where its liek WEE --> ee WEE <--ee kinda ping ponging back and forth on each note.. hard to explain. I like the spacey earthboundesque sounds in the background though :P

4:00 is nice its very relaxing.. buut then it gets weird again aroun 4:12 haha. I wonder if this is a reflection of your mind - calm on the outside with inner chaos and weirdness roiling about..

Buoy responds:

I'm sure empty trains to nowhere sound like this, although I must admit I haven't actually heard one.

I can agree the bitcrushed pad is a bit in-yer-face, maybe I could put a filter on it or something. "WEE --> ee WEE <--ee"? You would be a great poet but I don't really see what you meant with that sentence :P

And no my mind isn't quite like that, again that's very poetic though.

You know... I was looking through your music and voting 5's... and then I saw this song. I then realized why I started making music in the first place. It was this song... this very song that I first listened to on newgrounds... that made me want to become an audio artist. I loved it, every note, every beat, and every synth. The combination of synths is what got to me. And the title... that title means something you know? This is truly a remarkable piece... and it has started me on the road to ambient music. I know what your thinking after reading this... your thinking I am either sucking up to you, or I have a strange taste in music. Well, I simply can not tell you in words how much this song means to me. Thank you. Oh, and I was wondering what you would happen to think on my next song... You review mine and I am glad that youn do. I put all my strength together, and made one final song before mid-terms start. n/110320
