If you want to talk, I´m still around.

I´ve been working on this since 2015, on and off. I could really use some feedback on where to take this concept.

I'm afraid i don't have much to add to this that hasn't been said already. Although i would like to say i enjoyed this track a lot. It was really relaxing and pleasant, like a cool breeze. I agree the piano could use some work, it sounded a bit too distant and muffled to me. The bass felt out of place in some spots. Other than that i honestly don't think you need to add anything, i like the minimal aspect of it personally. Good work!

Hi there! I´m really glad you liked the track! No one has ever compared my projects to a cool breeze. No need to be afraid of not adding anything new, if anything it helps as much to know that multiple people feel the same way about it, it gives me clearer insight into what needs to be fixed and how. Thanks a lot for the kind review!

hey there

something seems off about the low frequencies, either the sub isn't loud enough or it clashes with the sub of the kick, it helps to shorten the drum samples as much as possible (long boomy kick may sound good on its own but it can muddy the mix a lot), maybe highpass the kick around 60-80Hz...

I would also add some more hi-hats/cymbals/highpassed drum break to the main parts, to my taste this is too minimal

both piano and pads could be turned down a bit

also developing the melody more at later parts would be nice, I'm all into minimalistic approach, but this kinda leads to nowhere, overall vibe is nice though

and comparing your song to some similar, profesional one is always a good idea, maybe with anylizers like SPAN if you don't trust your ears/ sound system

hope this helps a bit, keep it up :)

thanks a lot for the tip on the low frequencies, I definitely have to include that in the mixing process.
minimal is where I was heading with this track, but I will spice it up a bit more next time :)
strange, some other people off of NG that listened to it said the piano should have been louder. guess that´s a personal taste thing.
I rarely reference my tracks, though I probably should. I use SPAN vigorously on every project.
Your feedback is always welcome, you magnificent DnB beast :) thanks a ton, I appreciate it!

The piano melody felt a bit underwhelming, especially once the percussion started. I feel like part of the reason for this is also that the 45 second buildup at the start doesn't feel particularly vindicated. I get the feeling you're kind of avoiding the typical dramatic shift after the buildup, so maybe some additional complexity to the melody at around that point could help?

You are correct in that the piano melody is a little weak, I can hear that now. If I finish this, I will ve sure to up the volume and spice up the melody a bit. Thank you so much for the review, I really appreciate it!
