"James Bond-ish"

Very bond-ish man. The drum loops were unique, and it fitted well with the basses/pads. Great job on this. Check out my latest track!

"needs fine tuning"

by: dh2050

the tempo seems fine to me but the only thing thats gonna kill the song is the keys being offset

ill say that when working with music of this tempo, trying constructing the piece at a slower tempo, maybe half or quarter of the speed so you can get better precession for the notes

"Hmm.."

The beat itself seems a little fast for its own good. I know you're making drum and bass, but the beat you constructed doesn't seem to lend itself so well to a fast tempo.

The major issue I noticed was when you would have these pretty random pauses in the beat. They seemed sorta random, and they were very clumsy and not very good sounding. And the sort of breakdown thing at one point is very short and seems pointless, then its back to the main repetative beat with O.K. background noise and those awful pauses.

When you've submitted two tracks yesterday, and already one today, it makes it seem as though you're not putting much effort into these. And it really sounds like it, too.

Try to spend some time on these. No one is perfect, but really listen to your stuff over and over again before submitting. Make sure its the best you can do.

I know this seems like a really negative review, but it wasn't a really terrible song. The beat wasn't great, but aside from the random pauses it was pretty energetic and cool sounding. The background noise was pretty awesome too.

So keep trying, especially since you're pretty new.

If you have the time, could you listen/review my newest track?

I'd appreciate it, thanks.

Author's Response:

Hi kevs and thanks for a very fair review.
The beat tempo: I had exaaactly the same in mind, but now I got confirmation from a respected guy so I'm sure about the speed being too fast lol.
The pauses: I actually liked them :( matter of taste here I think..
More time: as true as 1 + 1 = 2 I've always had this problem.. Aalways start new stuff when my previous stuff is FAR from ready, it's a NASTY habit I gotta change indeed. Im thinking of getting my account deleted and making a new one because I ruined it with all the bad snippets while I can really do much better when it comes to producing full tracks.
I'll have a look at your song tomorrow,
greets
