Proggy but fast trance

Edit: Uploaded the wrong bounce.

Edit 2: I might have to actually master this. I have an amp so I can just turn that up when I want it louder. If I compress it, I hope I don't fucking crush it to death like I do with everything else.

i smashed the rate 5 button instantly when i heard quality. well done for achieving this :)
though, while you achieved it you kinda lost some creativity overall. shame though.
i think i would do this track somewhat differently.
i get this is a fast proggy trance thing, but there is nothing wrong with changing it up a bit.
"progressive" is only a guideline. Other than that it will only limit your creativity.
Same with any genre. i get lost in this too.. spare me xD

I dig the mixing and the transitions, simply spot on.
I dig the melodies, its trancey, dreamy, proggy.
I dig the instruments, though the way you used them seem kinda basic, i think that is what TaintedLogic also said (or atleast i thought).

I read the description and i wonder what it sounded like before..
but only if you used the 'crushing' compression method.. so, did you use it?

Keitomine responds:

nope, I never did any mastering, right now it's just mixed. I've been thinking about whether I want to keep the climax as it is, because of the fact that the breakdown melody is literally only used during the breakdown, and it rubs me the wrong way, even though I like the track. I'm thinking of a way to let the breakdown melody work during the climax, and still allow for the main idea of the track to work with it.

I like the energy at the beginning. I like the atmospheric synths that come in at around :30, but you may have overdone it on the reverb. The piece progresses pretty slowly, but I like the crisp beats and catchiness. The mixing is pretty tight, but I think that snare could use a bit more compression. Generally, the snare should be the loudest instrument in the mix. The piece gets very repetitive after a while, and I would’ve liked to see you use some more more legato sounds to give the texture some fill. In a way, you did that at 2:23, and I like how you still kept up the pulse despite the smoother texture. Still, by around the 4-minute mark you’re back to familiar content, and I couldn’t perceive any way that you varied the refrain the second time around. The piece definitely didn’t need to be over 6 minuts long. Overall, I think the combination of the minimalism and the repetition makes it hard to keep me engaged with this piece. A lot of the instruments were also a little generic. I do like the melody and your use of reverb and sweeps, though. The transitions were effective, and besides my complaints about the snare the mixing was solid. Keep at it, man. ;)

I really like this track, it emanates a lot of energy and makes you want to dance! It's almost perfect, the tunes, the composition, everything fits perfectly. I just needed a bit more work in the final part, compared to the rest of the song. Despite of that, awesome song! Keep the good work!

Pretty great stuff! I really like how the track evolves softly and slowly. Great tunes, perfectly fitting to and into each other. The only thing I see here, which maybe could be "improved" (doesn't need to be improved), was the part after 4:15. Somehow I expeted the final part, something powerful, maybe a full saw "crying" a melody to the track. I mean, it's still perfect as it is, but this would be another kind of perfect in my opinion xD, I just missed the "finish line". Anyway, great track! Thanks for showing us.

Keitomine responds:

I just decided to keep it simple. I might edit the track, like there's something about the beginning melody that makes me want to change it, but I like how it is right now.

A lot of times I forget that less really is more, and try to add so much that I overwhelm myself.

Edit: Also I noticed you had commented on another one of my tracks last year. Nice to see you back!
