High octane metal track recorded for AIM 2017 with plenty of in-your-face riffs that try to mimic the sounds of a spluttering engine or skidding round a corner to hammer home the destruction derby theme.

I've been liking the sound of my last couple of uploads with the bass cranked up a bit louder so I left it there, but it could be too much! Let me know what you think :)

I feel the snare could a little more punch, but I agree with EDM's points. I feel though this song is too repetitive. Needs more bass, I agree. Not sure what else to add aside from what EDM mentioned, but this song needs more work in the melodic structure, it sounds like a lot of other metal songs. Not bad though, just needs work.

Thanks for the pointers :D will try to bring that snare up a bit for next time. Melodic structure certainly isn't my strong suit, and is something I should definitely put some more consideration and practice into.

Enjoyed this piece for reasons already mentioned. The bass I think could actually use a bit more presence in the right places. Right now, the high mids are sticking out a bit and the bottom end is hanging out somewhere. We don't know where, so our ears are drawn to those finicky mid-frequencies and it ends up sounding quite thin and crunched up.

I really didn't enjoy the half key change around 2:20 and the octaved arpeggio. Really took me out of my element and felt a very lazy add-on. In short, good work, but could have been more thought out. Solo sections were nice, mixing was fairly well done, though could be better in places, and I did enjoy the listen.
