BIG thanks to FlashYizz [FlashyMusic] for this AWESOME beat that inspired my spur-of-the-moment co-creation. I swear, this guy's piano skills are up there with Bach and Chopin.

Lyrics:

Never thought I'd be back here
Never thought I'd be back here

On another beat right here
Feelin all the heat right here

Never thought I'd be back here
But now I see it crystal clear
Like I met a mystic seer
Sippin on an ice cold beer

watch it as I disappear
Fear
Runnin from the puppeteer
Feelin way too drunk to steer

Never thought I'd be back here?
Say it;
Never thought I'd be back here.
Yeah

And I Never never thought
That it could ever ever be so cold at night
And I never never thought
that I could ever ever be so dead inside

But then you saw me
Up, and walk away
And when you saw me
That- was yesterday

Never thought I'd be back here
Never thought I'd be back here

On another beat right here
Feelin all the heat right here

Never thought I'd get so close
Never thought I'd feel so gross
Never thought I'd lose so much
So I Never thought I'd lose the most

Never thought I'd lose gran-dad
Never thought I'd feel so bad
Never thought I'd get so mad
Never thought I'd need comrades

But, then...

Never thought that I be a dad
Never thought I could be so glad
Never thought I'd see the day
When I felt so good
That I never thought I'd feel so bad

Never thought I'd be back here
But now I see it crystal clear
Like I met a mystic seer
Sippin on an ice cold beer

watch it as I disappear
Fear
Runnin from the puppeteer
Feelin way too drunk to steer

Never thought I'd be back here?
Say it;
Never thought I'd be back here.
Yeah

And I Never never thought
That it could ever ever be so cold at night
And I never never thought
that I could ever ever be so dead inside

But then you saw me
Up, and walk away
And when you saw me
That- was yesterday

Never thought I'd be back here
Never thought I'd be back here

Never thought I'd be back here
Never thought I'd be back

I never thought
I never thought
I never thought
I never thought
I never thought
I never thought
I'd ever think
I never thought [x4]

Never thought I'd ev-er die
Never thought I'd ev-er cry
Never thought I'd have to try
and Never thought I'd ever lie

Never thought I'd touch the sky
Never thought I'd wonder why
Never thought I'd be a wise guy
Never thought I'd ever ever ever ever ever say good bye

ever thought I'd be back here
But now I see it crystal clear
Like I met a mystic seer
Sippin on an ice cold beer

watch it as I disappear
Fear
Runnin from the puppeteer
Feelin way too drunk to steer

Damn Doc- don't take this the wrong way- but you got an assload better in your time away. Imma download and bump this. Kinda crazy for real dude, after hearing your words on this song I realize that the in last couple years- our paths apparently have a few similarities.

You may or may not be aware, but I took a 2+ year hiatusmyself. I also became a father (my little girl turns 2 next week and she is my world, as I'm sure you feel about your munchkin)... AND I'm not too keen on the details... but I'm pretty sure we're both PTSD-level traumatized by life. This is a dope ass song homie- SO glad to see you back!

This. This right here. Hearing these things- this is what always keeps bringing me back. I really appreciate that, man. It hits me right where it matters. Not only am I hearing a talented high-quality rapper telling me I've improved a LOT- I'm also hearing that I'm writing relatable tracks. Seriously, man. Thanks for this detailed review.

Congrats on your 2 year old! I'm just about to head into the terrible 2's myself lol.

Well, the voice sounds kinda unpleasant. It's a bit screamy sounding.

Oh my, that narrative stream and a flow to deliver it so diversely, really hits a stride and carries the established theme throughout this song. Lyrics on point, real and hearty. The beat; very vibey, with some nice instrumental accompaniment, the pianos are a very nice touch. Most of the vocal samples, I'm digging, the choral singing nice. The Lil Jon "Hey" and other hype, not so much; thought it clashed a bit with the mood of this. Vocal mixing- first 2/3 dope, very audible and meshed well with the beat. The rap bars at around 3minutes (and the outro rap bit) , the lap top mic set up became apparent. Which is kind of impressive, considering all the vocal range displayed before/after the ear bleeding parts; either you have an awesome laptop mic, or you got some impressive mixing skills or both.

Big props bro. Hope to hear more from you!

So awesome to hear from ya, Mick!

Thanks for the breakdown. I deff was less than satisfied with the way a lot of parts sounded, but yeah. The laptop mic is quite limiting. I hope to bring you more in the future!
