I can't believe he never did anything with this epic midi file. I opened it up in Mixcraft and was blown away. IMO this version doesn't do it justice. I might make a cinematic version later.

I knew there was something I forgot to do. I so should have tagged this for Pixel Day.
But yes, I'm JK FlipFlop. This link proves it: http://jk-flipflop.newgrounds.com. See how it redirects to me?
And thank you for the review!

So...this is a Genesis style mix? Sounds more along the lines of something from the Sega CD + Genesis chipset to be honest. I mean, if you've ever played Super RoadRash and Silpheed on that console, you would understand where I am going with it.

The Sega CD drive played MP3/WAV tracks without any issues, and the Genesis soundchip incorporated the SCD soundchip as well...as much as SEGA denies it, it's true.
Good beat overall and Im curious to what other type of tunes you'll pump out in the future.

JK-FlipFlop responds:

Yes, it is. 5 FM, 3 PSG and the DAC (drums). As far as I know, what I've done here is possible on the Genesis without the PCM channel from the SEGA CD part. I'm not sure what else the SEGA CD had to add besides CD audio, but I didn't use any of it. Just the Genesis chip.
Thanks for the review, though, and I've got more collabs on the way (they've been made already, I'm just saving them because I don't always get time to work on stuff).

It's awesome but TOO LOUD and I think that it should have higher pich

JK-FlipFlop responds:

I think you're right. Those guitars are a bit loud. But I tried the higher pitch and it was killing my ears.

Nice choice of choosing instruments, the mixing is great, mastering is in good shape, only thing you could reverb a little bit, in other words, great job you two.

I would never put reverb in a Genesis mix, or it wouldn't be true to the Megadrive sound chip. Though I can see how that would sound good. You should check out EDM364's latest if you want reverb on chip sounds.
