Everyone needs a Christmas special, and here is mine, a melodic dubstep remix of Ice Cap Zone for Christmas! ;) Made using Harmor, GMS and Sytrus and 2 3rd party plugins,, Rough Rider and a little bit of Le456.

This was mainly comprised of just basic bassy synths with some waveshaping and distortion, but it turned out quite well, because I was very specific and controlling of it. This really makes everything BURST, and I'm REALLY happy with it!

Now I must admit, the drop is DEFINITELY gonna be a love it or hate it thing... Y'see I was originally just gonna make this a loop, but it sounded to good to squander its potential, but now I'd made myself a challenge; I had to make the drop even louder than the beginning, without making your ears bleed...

I think considering the difficulty, I did quite well, but I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't a fan of it. It used to be just a horribly distorted Harmor supersaw, then I changed it to something a little better... I made a much cleaner supersaw which was more complex, with vibrato, flanging, phasing and all that good stuff... I made it more high pitched to fit the icy mood better, but this caused some real ear bleeding, so I needed to reduce the scream of it without reducing the volume...

I ended up making a second more bassy supersaw and splitting the stereo image so that one went one side and one the other, the idea for this was to be very distorted, but easily overpowered by any other sound except the lead synth to reduce the scream, and thanks to good fortune it turned out surprisingly well; although the scream was still there. It did swallow it a bit too much though, so I assigned its cutoff and some of the mix levels of its distortion to an X controller that went with the whole "bursting" thing like at the beginning to fix it.
