"A good review."

This song is amazing. Your voice is superb. And what gets me about it is this intense note of pain and desperation I can just hear as you describe the monster's eyes...it's like listening to Dr. Jekyll himself.

Yours is easily one of the best songs I've come across, and yours is the sort of music that keeps me coming back to this site. Keep up the good work.

how you doing, just thought i'd bob by your page just checked this tune out. it's a really chilled out tune. The vocal tho in tune and musically clear seems a little bit held back, missing some energy, try a bit of compression, the double track is too perfect, have you took another take for the double or just copied the part? try using a detune on a monitor speak but not in the mix, or a small delay of 50ms then record your take, it'll just make it sound a bit more natural.

The guitar is sweet, nice picking and rhytmn support, is there a bass in there or is it the E string playing bass? anyways it's very clear the bass section, again the overall sound is a little muffled, lacking some energy, i think a little bit of overall compression on the track and an aurual enhancer would do wonders for the musical energy of this track.

overall tho the composition is really good, a chilling song, a little on the short side, maybe benifit from some string arrangments and some mellow percussion. but i really enjoyed listening to this song. been looping now for about 10 mins.

4.5/5 so you get a 5

Author's Response:

Yo pitters thanks for the good review as always. I agree with you abou tthe vocals, Im not really a vocalist so Im not sure how I would go about recording this better. I didnt use a double track though; just sang the same thing twice.

Might have to redo this again one day with more length and more awesome. Thanks a lot for the review dude!

Man all i gotta say is awesome.....and the fact its sounds like Death Cab for Cutie I'll Follow you into the dark.

Author's Response:

Hey irony-victim,

Thanks for the review, glad you enjoyed the song! Actually, I learned "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" a while before I made this song, and used a technique I learned from it in "Jekyll and Hyde"; namely the pluck and strum technique. It gives a nice bass accent note and a filling strum during the sung lines.

Good ear Irony-victim, and thanks again for the review!

now post the lyrics as I seem to be much better reading lyrics than following them though the lyrics really were clear in this piece. Your voice is good.

Seems to be you with your guitar and a bit of organ. Some slow, low mixed drums would fit good in this

What did you use to create this? Is everything a live recording or what

Great song, great for a first try at lyrics also here's my huge dick

Author's Response:

Yo SBB cheers for the review. The lyrics are as follows:

As the moon falls from the sky,
Darkness is amplified
By its passing away.

I can feel your eyes
Hungry, red and wild
You're always asking "Is it today?"

One day I will learn
Not to look him in the eye.
One day he will burn
Though I know he'll never die.

The time to run is near (but)
I cannot show fear to the monster.
He's inside me.

I know the way is clear
I try to persevere
I hope he cannot fight what he cannot see.

One day I will learn
How to look him in the eye.
One day he will burn
Though I know he'll never die.

Its all live recording done with my microphone, a borrowed bass, my guitar, a children's glockenspiel and my voice.

If you want to have a go on the drums for this song, then feel free! I suck at drummage. Just wish my voice was less shaky...ah well thanks for the review mate.

Also, nice dick.
