My slowest song yet. Made as a mourning song for the recent deaths (Ford, Williams, etc.).

"liking the synth lines"

by: KaiSun
date: February 4, 2007

Hey DSMagnum,
I thought the melody in this was solid, Love synth chords played like that. It would be cool if there were some fx, either in the background or on some oof the instruments, just to add some extra atmosphere.
Nice song.

Author's Response:

Maybe I could've used some pads? That would've given it more of an etheral feel. I should try that in my next song.

Thanks for the review. :)

I love that beginning man, it raises your spirits! It should be played in churches everywhere! This really doesn't sound like a mourning song to me, but you did get the tempo right. The bass is alright, it just fills it in, and the drums are ok. Pretty good, although I can't imagine this being played at a funeral.

"nice, good reason u made i too."

It works great as a mourning. the last reviewer said, the lead synth is too lound. im gona hav to say, its only a tad loud. but the type of synth is not so right. I would of done 1 simular, but more soft and string like with a reverb. and the piano shouldnt of been equalized. but still, its a good song. 5/5 from me to you.

Author's Response:

Maybe I should've made the lead a tad more ambientish? As for strings, I originally planned to have some, but I never got around to it. I thought the piano was fine as I had it. I'll have to keep these things in mind from now on.

"on the right track"

date: January 2, 2007

Dude, the chord progression you've got and the melodic ideas are all very good. But the lead sound, like in some of your others, is just way too, well, obnoxious and loud! Especially for a slower song, I think something a bit more mellow and sweet would suit.
Just fix that up, and this would be an enjoyable chilled track. Maybe spice up the bassline a little while you're at it. :)
Unleash the power man!

Author's Response:

I always seem to have problems with leads. That's normally why I make a lot of DNB tracks using basses as the leads. :P I'll have to work on making better leads for my songs.
