Final world BG music! (I'm not doing them in order, there are 3 more to come at least) The order so far is:
1. Water World
2. ?
3. Sky Summit
4. ?
5. Factory Zone
6. Underground (up next)
7. Spirit Shrines
8. Volcanic Core
This one's a little different, I didn't use 3xOsc and WASP. I used GMS mostly! Still all synths are square-based so it remains 8-bit styled. (I think... =p) There's a bassy distorted square stab with retrigger and sidechaining based off of Space stabs, and there's a frequency clicking (as I call it) Square pluck that's a variant of liquid light with some added distortion.
I think this pretty foreboding and slow while still being dramatic, in terms of hearing enjoyment I rank this 3rd of the 5 so far over Factory Zone and Sky Summit, but for mood and serving its purpose as a soundtrack, I'd say this is my best so far, so game developers; go wild!
