MMM WHATCHA' SAAAAAAY

Please read!

I'll be honest here. To me, 'Hide And Seek', Imogen Heap's hypnotic and soothing "robotic ballad", is a little gem. It is among the songs that inspire and motivate me to discover new ways to write meaningful lyrics and compose enchanting music in the Electronic genre.

This, right here, is my pathetic rendition of it.

Then again, I was probably born to do a cover of this song. It's no surprise that I unintentionally ended up with the right equipment to do exactly that. This sound captivates me, it makes me feel like a child surrounded with endless waves of wonder.

This cover is not perfect. I did it in one take and it shows at times. I tried to stay faithful to the original version as much as possible, for better or for worse.

Tell me what you think! I hope I did this song justice. :O

No doubt you have excellent control over your voice, and on top of that the editing and effects you put on this vocal track really shows you know how to work with vocal recordings. I've listened to some of your other songs, your skill with vocals is still what stands out to me. Props!

tallestrose responds:

Thank you so much for your review! It is super hard for me to control my voice, but I'm able to train on a regular basis, mostly by singing along the synthesized vocals my vocoder makes. The majority of the effects you hear are applied to my voice in real time by my pedals, and the reverb and compression is made thanks to a preset I made - and constantly play with - on my external sound card's computer interface.

I know it's a lot of boring info, but that's pretty much how I record and manage my voice, and I'm really happy that you like it! :) Thanks again!

Not going to lie, the vocals make me think of Pendulum's vocalist, I love it. Not a bad cover at all dude, very well done. <3

tallestrose responds:

Aw, this is great! I've heard Rob Swire's voice before thanks to deadmau5's song, but I'm curious! I'll definitely check out Pendulum. ^^ Thank you so much for your feedback!
