Hey there guys,

here is my submission for the NGAUC´16. Many would have expected me to submit orchestral, epic, jazz, whatever. Well: I decided to do something totally different that i have never tried before and wanted to show you some bavarian folk music from my homeland - the bavarian culture is part of my personality: Many Bavarians - and me, too - mainly feel as bavarian , secundary as german and least as europeans. So the Bavarian nationality is dominant in our souls :D Maybe its also interesting to know that we Bavarians have many similarities with the scottish due to our tribal origins.

The first part (the tracks introduction) style is called "Bavarian Chamber Music" and is mostly played in the rural areas, especially in the black forest or in the alps). Its a very intimate and quiet music style.

The second part is a track that you could find in a bavarian festival in a beer tent - at the Oktoberfest for example. I used 3 Trombones, a Tuba, an Accordion, 2 Clarinets, Snares, Cymbals and SFX for that part to get the authentic beer tent feel.

I hope you enjoy it - like i said: Its something very personal for me and i think people should show more from their own countries that you usually would not hear on a portal like this. As far as i have seen this is the only bavarian folk track on NG so its quite uncommon.

Enjoy! Honest comments and votes are always very appreciated.

Prost!

Hello from Berlin! (for now :P)

Man, this is by far my favorite track from this year's NGAUC. It is consistently the only track that puts a smile on my face every single time I hear it. You truly are a master of genres! :D

I just really love all the attention to detail you put into your tracks. While it may be somewhat short, the meticulous attention given to the velocities of every note and the background ambience of a happy Bavarian village just win me over. Great work and good luck in the competition! Not that you'll need it. :)

This is absolutely lovely. The first one especially is quite the sweet and emotional experience.
You really don't see a lot of folk compositions around here, great work man.

You were one of my first inspirations when I first came to Newgrounds (and started music), now we're in the same competition! Impressive work as always!

SoundChris responds:

Thank you very much for your kind words Steve- While i never thought i would be an inspiration for anyone it makes me even more glad to hear that. Music is just (maybe) the most enjoying thing in life and there are so many interesting styles and genres. I just can recommend to anyone to always just follow your intuition and do whatever you are up to. Never think of the difficulties. Thats how i started composing abou 3.5 years ago. Its just so enjoyable to always try to break your own personal limits.

I wish you good luck for the competition and thanks again for leaving your thoughts here.

All the Best,
Chris

Coole Idee!

Chris
