I like the atmospheric intro. It’s a little slow to develop, but the sound design is really cool and establishes the mood really well. 90 seconds is way too long for an intro, though, and I wasn’t satisfied with the transition into 1:36. I think you could’ve phrased the first 90 seconds of the track in such a way so that 1:36 connected very smoothly, but instead there’s a sudden, jarring wall of energy there with little sense of buildup. The entire track seemed very drawn-out, and I don’t think it needed to be almost 5 minutes long. I guess my main problem with the progression here is that there isn’t a sense of development with the individual phrases of the piece. Rather, you try to glue pieces together with echo-y percussion (at 2:31, for example). The section at 2:31 was good for structural relief, and the chord changes at 2:59 at least helped give the piece a sense of direction. The transition at 3:10 also isn’t working for me. Nothing preempted that abrupt pause, and usually it’s a good idea with atmospheric pieces like this to try to bridge the gap in sound with some reverb at the very least. Then, 3:12 has a completely different character. I thought the ending was pretty lazy and underwhelming. There also isn’t really any strong melodic content in this piece. You have some arpeggios at 1:36 and an upbeat ascending line, but without any rhythmic variety, phrasing, or interesting contour, it doesn’t do a lot for me. The parts at 1:36 and 3:12 are essentially identical, giving this piece a lack of overarching development. In fact, you barely introduce any kind of new content at all after about halfway through the piece. The mixing and mastering are solid, but compositionally this piece is extremely underwhelming. Next time you make a track, I’d suggest writing a melody before anything else, making sure to vary the note length and give it some more shape besides simple ascending lines. Then, be sure to vary that melody later in the piece to make it sound more climactic and conclusive. Hope that helped. Keep at it, man! ;)

WOW This has a lot of potential! Sadly, I'm not hearing all that potential being realized in this track, but that potential definitely exists!

Coming from an ambientstep artist, you've done a good job designing sounds! The atmosphere sounds wonderful and whimsical, with some interesting chords and composition to boot.

As general advice to help you achieve what you might be lacking in this piece, I'd create a bit more complexity in the soundscape, use WAY less harsh sidechaining, and give the fills some more reverb. Generally speaking, in sounds like this, you want to avoid moments of complete and utter silence that could be better filled with the sounds of decaying pads and arps. Also, let the sound fade out all the way at the end instead of cutting it short. :) Good luck!

Awesome job! This is really nice, and I love the concept! However, you might want to work on the mixing a bit more, and maybe try to spice it up a little bit? Maybe add more melodies or something? It just seems a tad bit repetitive. Other than that though, this is awesome! Great work, and good luck with your submission :D

thanks for the quick review!
Honestly, I can't really hear any mixing problems, can you PM me about it?
Although I do see what you mean by it being repetitive.
