I had had the idea for this song, loop, whatever, as early as 2008, fearing my own death -- either at the hands of my parents, or the state in which I grew up. The fear of times to come drove the creation of this song. I had one line, the starting one.

Fast forward eight years and today, I still have an immense fear of what the tides of the world spell. In fact, even more immense than before. I recorded this on a whim, in spite of my ongoing projects, motivated by fear. Fear was what could be heard in my voice, fear was what could be heard in the music.

I fear the day where I inebriate myself
I fear the day when death rises
Her reddish eyes, which burn with desire
To see my life sucked away

I fear the day which approaches me
And especially the shadow which covers me
For every richness, every trace of glory
Is in the end nothing but dust

No, but I learned French in secondary school. I speak it fairly fluently as a result.

This is haunting and beautiful, it is the type of music that I would expect to be in a final boss fight from Half-life. I love the general rhythm and how it flows together into what could be a loop. Fantastic job on this.

Oh my. Thank you~
I haven't investigated the OST of Half Life, but I will take a look now that you've mentioned it.
