This seems more like funk than jazz to me, but then again, it has some similarities to modern jazz, but whatever, i guess it doesn't matter :P

-Snares could have overpowered the song if it were the whole thing, that's good.

Hmm...

-The rim shots (I don't think it's called that, but for lack of a better vocabulary of percussion at midnight) are nice, but need to be toned down on the high end of the EQ spectrum, rings in my ear a bit too much :P

Everything sounds pretty solid on this. Can't complain at all. Damn good drums, I like them.
The rolling side to side was pretty good. haha.

man, newgrounds uploads music hate you. two songs in a row with that stupid error.

I can't say that this is super-funky, more like jazz. But I like it, especially with that acoustic bass and the resonating trumpet. Your use of rim hits instead of snares was very fitting, snares could have overpowered this one a lot. I really like the ethnic percussion, too. :) What were they? Bongos? Anyways, nice job.

Hit me back, I've got some new tracks that I think you'll like. :)
