Made in FL Studio, 137.5 BPM (I'm not sure why) Not really sure if it falls under Trance but I was too lazy to see if it fit in another category better. Sorry.

This song was probably in the works the longest of any other song I've ever composed. Ever. I can't fully remember when I started it but it was definitely upwards of a year ago. I had reached a point in the song's creation where I couldn't find a way to take the song any further. I was stuck. This point was at 1:57. I decided to take a step back and let the dust settle, so to speak - that way I could come back to it later and finish it

Fast forward a long time - and I stumble upon the project file again while browsing through other shelved projects. I had revisited the project multiple times before but still couldn't make any progress. But I knew the song wasn't done. It needed... more. Determined to finish it this time through, I spent the next few days clearing up a year's worth of writer's block. And then bam. Presto. Done.

Taking a look at the song now, it definitely can be argued that it contrasts two heavy and somber themes, depending on your interpretation. But, taking it a step further, it's also a contrast of my composing abilities back then when I started the piece and after; when I finished it. The part before 1:57 was basically left untouched when I came back to it a year later bar a few mixing alterations. So for me personally, it's really interesting to see how far I've come and how much I've improved. While not my best work, it's definitely a unique piece with a trance like atmosphere. Feel free to leave your interpretation of the song in your comment - I'd like to see what you guys think

TL;DR: This song was a year in the works and compares my composing skill back then when I started to now when I finished. Also quite somber imo.

The part after 1:57 is the turning point, those dark pads sound great! Everything is better.
This song clearly shows your improvement from a year ago to now. You might try remastering the whole song with some changes at the start so it flows into well.

Cheers!

Yeelp responds:

Agreed! remastering (even remixing) is definitely on my to do list! There were plenty of things I wanted to add to the song to give it a more creepy vibe but had to scrap because it just didn't sound that good. Maybe I'll have an opportunity to throw them in for real. Maybe not.

I got it! I'll remaster the first half now, and the second half a year from now. Poifect! XD
Or maybe not...

Anyway, thanks so much for the review!
