Simple. Effective. Well done.
I am currently working on a full-conversion mod for Command and Conquer: Generals, set in the context of the Syrian Civil War. The mod sheds the more cartoony elements of the original in favor of a sober look, not shying away from this ongoing tragedy. The main menu shows a typical small town seen from the air. While orbiting over this town, what you see flashes back and forth to before and after the town has been ravaged by war, with buildings left damaged or collapsed, an open air market reduced to a bombed-out crater, and drones and helicopters circling overhead. I was looking for a track which could set an appropriate mood for this scene, and this track might fit the bill. Would you grant permission for its use (with credit given where it's due)?
The game is played primarily from the perspective of the SDF, though there is one mission focused on an SAS unit which was sent in to capture a high-level ISIS POI (POS). Other missions place the player in control of a lone civilian with the goal of surviving the events unfolding around them - the fall of Sinjar and an attempted night escape from Raqqa, with a Russian bombing raid serving to draw the attention of roving street patrols away from your movements. ISIS is, for reasons which should be obvious, not a playable faction.
