A sad piece that I am using in a flash project I'm currently working on

"Didn't fit in"

date: June 29, 2009

The intro sounded somewhat joyous, perfect for that sort of music. But, obviously you weren't gunning for that. It was like a "two lovers run from opposite sides of the paddock into each others arms" scenario, not a sad one. With the choir in the background I did somewhat see a funeral there, but only for 4 seconds. So, quite honestly, in a lovers get-together, perfect. As a sad song, terrible.

Author's Response:

Ah, but you miss why music is as much an art as it is. Like any work of art, it can be interpreted any way. You, someone hearing this piece, perceived your own image of what the music was conveying when, in fact, I had a different image in mind.

If I could visually display the scene in mind that this music intended to convey, you might find it makes more sense when it fits in with what was happening. But you don't know that, because I didn't explain what was happening, because to fully experience what this piece conveys, you'd have to see it for yourself.

In the future, when you rate other people's music, keep in mind that their image and your perceived image are not always going to line up, and never call a piece of music "Terrible" just because you see something different, and it doesn't fit YOUR image. It's like calling a poem "terrible" when in truth, no one can possibly understand the poem but the poet himself.

In truth, this piece had nothing whatsoever to do with lovers.

"mixed emotions"

date: December 29, 2008

If you just imagine a bit, its like a kid on an adventure. It sounds a bit happy, but then it has a letdown, as if he is excited to adventure but realizes he is alone...

A bit further in his wandering it gets sadder and maybe a bit scary, he feels very alone and the happy is kind of lost D:

It kind of picks back up once in a while, not all too sad to me. It could be in the end credits of a game, I think.

"Exactly what I was looking for"

date: June 1, 2008

I got a little animation/cartoon series on Youtube and I noticed that throughout the first dozen episodes, I always chose the wrong music during relaxing, calm moments.

This will be one of them to fix my problem, along with a few of your other songs I heard.

And yes, I will give credit if I use them. Haha.

That's fine. Thanks for the heads up.
