Southern Flavor - Country

Author Comments

welcome to the 11th week/version/edition/chapter/volume/element of the sumirs3cjams project! this week I've uploaded a rock-modern country sounding tune. The background loop is based off a riff in Led Zeppelin's track "Black Dog" and subtly quotes some of the song in the improvised lines, overall emphasizing Mixolydian and blues scales. Mostly rock licks, but I tried to give it an underlying southern feel, with the bright twangy guitar tone, accentuated bending, and straight-driving rhythm. Hope to see y'all next week.

Seeing the city image on the disc spin as I listen, I imagine I'm parachuting out of control, somersaulting through the sky in a sunset dive where my body does little to bring up a barrage of air that might slow my fall. It goes round and round, and what comes around goes around and round... were it not for the unintentional motion of said thumb I'd probably imagine a sunset on ground-level though, dusty and Earthbound, not really slow or eventless, but with a good dose of control. Feels like confidence. Also nice ending, abrupt but fitting.

oh cool I thought I was the only who disabled the visualizer. Interesting; I cannot say I had that story in mind when creating the song lol, but the spinning icon is acutely described there. Thanks for the review!
