Makes me imagine a group of good friends enrolled in the army saying goodbye to their families and their country, and boarding the bus for the airport. They have smirks and smiles on their faces because they feel happy that they will help protect their country, and because they're still young, ar joking about how they'll kill all the baddies and get back home as heroes; But then the bus arrives at the airport, the guys see a landed military plane, officers saluting, and soldiers carrying out caskets draped with the U.S flag and a crown of flowers on them - and then their smiles wipe out, and they realize thatwar is no matter of jokes, and that they might come home - heroes or not nonetheless - in the same draped caskets. Nice song, it has that "there's no joking about this" feel to it.

"Quieting."

I can see how this was meant to portray a scene right before a battle, but to me, it portrays a different picture.
It is, in a sense, a battle, but of a different kind. I believe it's because of the guitar, but it makes me think of a western, right before the final shootout. Perhaps a bit more modernized, but I feel it all the same.
No matter how you look at it though, it still feels like the calm before the storm.

Even better than 1! Brothers to war is a perfect subtitle. I can just see someone preparing to enter the army and going to thier first battle.

My favorite section of the Commando Suite. Very unique piece. 10 and 5.
Just about everything's been said about this, so I'll just say it was excellent and I enjoyed it. great job

"Touching"

date: March 4, 2007

I felt this piece very much captured the emotions that one could very well feel, boarding a bus that would take the soldier to the plane that would take them across the world to fight, having to say good bye to loved ones for at least six months, and to say goodbye to the country that they're fighting for, perhaps for the last time.
Very good mix of orchestral and more modern "technoish" material to bring a strong feeling to the piece.

Author's Response:

Yes my aims was exactly this one. I think as a good movie a filmscore must show the emotional backgrounds of a story not just blood, suffering and stunning action.
