Original Title: "Solar Sect of Mystic Wisdom ~ Nuclear Fusion" from Touhou 11: Subterranean Animism
Original Artist: ZUN
Mix Artist: MOI!
Mix Length: 3:41

I wanted to take another crack at this theme a long time ago, but I could not for the life of me figure out how I wanted it done. After getting the new sounds I have now, I finally put together a mix that I deem worthy for your hearing pleasure! I worked really hard on this, especially with the guitars and supporting sounds!

I hope the Hell Raven would be proud... or maybe she'd just incinerate me. One way or the other, I'm damn proud of how this came out!

[EDIT] Yes, I did add in the nuclear alarm sound. I thought it would make a nice touch.

[EDIT 2] I am well aware that a lot of you people are coming from the Geometry Dash videos that feature this particular piece. While I appreciate you taking your time to come here, I do have one thing I must note: this and "Flawless Wings of Yatagarasu" by Gls, while they are remixes of the same theme titled "Solar Sect of Mystic Wisdom ~ Nuclear Fusion", are completely different remixes in and of themselves. I would appreciate it, and earnestly request, that you keep this in mind, and not refer to my remix by Gls' remix name. It's getting to the point where it's really starting to bug me. His fame is his own, and I'd rather not people link my remix to his through the name of his. They are linked solely through the song that they are remixing, nothing more.

Was this inspired by "The Flawless Wings of Yatagarasu" by Gls? or was TFWOY inspired by this?

SSJ3-Goku4567 responds:

Neither one is true. Flawless Wings of Yatagarasu and this remix, although they are both remixes of the same theme, which is "Solar Sect of Mystic Wisdom ~ Nuclear Fusion", are different in both style and pace. Not only that, but even if one was inspired by the other, Flawless Wings of Yatagarasu came way before this remix was even conceptualized.

Forgive me for being blunt, but if you wanted to ask me this, you could have just PMed me rather than using the review space to do so with. I'd prefer a review that points out things I did right or things I can do to improve my work. I appreciate your curiosity, but please, next time PM me with any questions you may have. Thank you.

I found this through a long moment of finding the better, original version of Flawless Wings, which then the original lead me to this.

I am to say, this far surpasses Flawless Wings and the original, this has a better, more dramatic head on atmosphere to it, which makes it seem more worthy, considering this is a remix of the final boss theme.

Flawless Wings and this are two different tracks entirely, but this works better than Flawless Wings' subtlety (Is that a word?).

SSJ3-Goku4567 responds:

As silly as this may seem, considering the amount of attention this particular remix has been getting, I did not expect this kind of review. Yeah, Solar Sect of Mystic Wisdom ~ Nuclear Fusion, which is the original theme's title, was pretty in your face and dramatic, but I do like what Gls did with the theme. I still found it quite enjoyable, and I can see why so many people love it. This wasn't meant to be an improvement on what Gls did, but rather an improvement on my previous attempt at this theme, though I'm more than surprised to see just how well this is doing. Whereas Gls's remix indeed had more subtlety (and yes, it is a word), I wanted mine to be powerful, booming, and just downright heavy. I can't say I did better than Flawless Wings of Yatagarasu, but I can say I hope I did Utsuho Reiuji proud. Thank you for your review!

This is very nice. I love this.

First of all, I see what you are saying about Gls's. I know you don't want the link. The truth is, I linked yours to Gls's! They're both great and whatever, but I'm going to talk about this song.

The volume is consistent. And (Yes, I'm from GD like everyone else) I can see this epic thing going on. I admit I started listening to it, and I was like, okay, okay... Not bad. But everything blends together so well, you have a lot of instruments and making them all sound good is amazing.

The part at 00:58 is SUCH A NICE build up to 1:09. I love it, it's prepares me, and it's just EPIC, probably the most epic soundtrack I've ever seen on Newgrounds! The piano is so well done with everything else, I just love it. But 1:09 is the reason I'm writing this.

The beat. I understand it's a remix, but the base, the piano, the background noises, IT'S SO FREAKING EPIC! I love it, and everytime I get to 1:09, I feel like getting out of my seat and dancing. (Unfortunately, my headphones would fall of, and if I unplug them my family gets mad, lol) IT'S SO COOL, I love that background electric beeping. (Don't know anything about techno or whatever, sorry) BUT LIKE, that last part also, IT'S SO COOL. You used JUST the right instrument to pull off that part. Wow, it's so good.

That ending, you just finished it right off! MAN, I don't know how to say what I'm feeling. But whenever I listen to this long, I'm also excited to hear 1:09 again, and I also get this epic feeling, and it's so motivating, and... You can just see this HUGE boss battle and epic fight... It's so great. I really love this. Gah, I keep saying that.

The cymbals are correctly timed, and the drums, that's not something you'd expect in this, but you time it, nail it, and it's PERFECT! :D KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK! So epic. I love this.

Oooo! Another thing is, at 2:17, you started playing these background scales. I don't know the electric instrument you used, but I've heard so many songs, and I think a lot of people would put an electric guitar there, but whatever you put there is SO COOL, and I think it sounds better than my imagination of an electric guitar there. Oh, man, and you even put it at 2:50. Whatever that is, it's so epic, it really makes it so epic! :D I feel like I'm repeating half of what I'm saying. OH MAN THIS IS SOOOOOO COOOLLLLL AND EPIC.

Ok, the cymbals are so well timed. Hehe... I love this. The piano is so good! 1:09!!!! BUM ABDKSJBJUAIDGSYHBASJUHOOIABDJKSNHSUIBKJNSADIJOHUADJ OH YEAHHHHHHHHH I'M JAMMING OUT! Dude (not assuming your gender, I call everyone dude) this is so epic. That part, it just, it makes me want to fly. It's so motivational, not that the other parts aren't, but it's the best. Normally in a song, I don't select favorites, (Ok, this is like the second) but THIS IS SO COOL. I can listen to it, and actually get my homework done, or do something! This song is extraordinary, THANK YOU FOR REMIXING IT YOU MADE IT PERFECT! <3 5/5 Nobel Peace Price New York Times Bestseller Song Of The Ages! YES!

I don't know how much you've looked into Geometry Dash, but if you go search up what people have done with your song, it's so cool! You've changed the game in a way. Manix648 thanks you!

Keep up the epic! I have not written something like this to anyone on Newgrounds. (As of now. xD)
Man, I feel like I could do anything. Talk about inspirational. THIS IS AMAZING, 2:50, OH BABY. That tune, you made it JUST RIGHT! AHAHUSBDHUIYGHJBAKSUHI Ok, I need to stop. Keep up the epic! <3 Oh, shoot, I already said that. I keep repeating things. SHOOT, I already said that. Well, I'm saying it again, that's just how epic it is!

Okay. Just know that you made my day and you have made a masterpiece. Keep creating! :D :D I thank you. And I apologize for mentioning GLS, but I wanted to say that. You two are individuals and great in your own ways, and I'm glad you emphasized that for a lot of people.

1:09. Man, I love this track. Never stop creating dude! Thanks so much!

SSJ3-Goku4567 responds:

It's not so much the link that bugs me as the fact that people tend to refer to my mix under his/her remix's title, which I feel is kind of disrespectful to Gls, if that makes any sense. I prefer to keep my mix separate from Gls' out of respect for the differences between the two. "Flawless Wings of Yatagarasu" has been around a lot longer than this remix has, so I can't compare mine to it as it had a lot more time to garner a reputation as a great remix of Nuclear Fusion, which it is. I even used it in one of my own videos on YouTube. Please understand that I bear no ill will towards anyone who does compare the two, but I just don't want to come off as trying to be better than Gls, which I'm most certainly not.

On to the actual review, this particular remix took a good three years of planning, tinkering, trashing, re-tinkering, re-trashing, and only after I got the sounds you hear in this mix could I get it to sound like I wanted. It took a LOT of time to get things together, but it all paid off, I'd say. Yes, I am aware that a lot of people who look at this come from Geometry Dash, and believe me, I am thankful for all the support I've been getting. I'm aware that Manix648 made a level with this particular remix, and while I've seen some controversy with his designs, one thing that is for sure is that he brought me a lot of attention, which I never expected in the first place, and when this blew up like it did, it just amazed me even more. Not one of my previous works (and so far, present) has ever been this successful.

Once again, I do apologize if I seem a bit rude or standoffish, and I thank you for your review. If you should get in touch with Gls, tell them that they rock. :D
