Corruption of a marriage...
A really interesting concept - I instantly imagined a dark perversion of the sacred rite, a forced marriage between a demon and a beautiful priestress in the broken and blackened pieces of a cathedral. A vile Rite to scorn whats good and pure - and to turn a loving heart and soul forever away from the light.
I imagine a dreadful horned figure, clad in burning brass and trailing lenghtes of rusty chain behind him while guiding the bride in her ebony black velvet gown to the perversion of an altar...
An excellent story Lorienvarden! My own initial story was that of two evil forces marrying each other, but this story holds different juicy possibilities :D! What really caught me however, was your description of the horned figure. Such darkness emits from his description, it was an excellent image to base the scenery around!
To explain the piece itself, I wanted to try and make a theme seen as happy, and rightous, and see if I could make it... different. I know it's possible to play any song in a minor key, though that is often not enough to make it sound dark alone. This song in particular was a challenge, but worthwhile!
Thank you for the review Lorienvarden! I'm glad you liked it!
I must be honest with you Maestro. I loved the song and I understand the need for the marriage standard in a song named "Corrupted Matrimony," but to me, it just seems a little... 'out-of-place,' as opposed to the rest of the song. Maybe if it was made as a more undertoned, background kinda of music, but the rest of the song was amazing! I loved the way everything fit together in the second half of the piece. I figured you'd appreciate honesty instead of ass-kissing... :P
I do in fact appreciate your honesty PolarBear. This piece was one I did on impulse. I know that it is possible to turn ANY song into a minor key and add some darkness to it, and so I wanted to try and take one of the most cherished songs out there, and turn it into something... interesting.
As far as I know though, there is no way to turn the Canadian Anthem into a dark song :(, i've tried. Adding the extra harmonies on top of the existing marriage song, was difficult, because they weren't meant to be there, like adding more layers on a already large hamburger kind of ordeal. The result can be perceived as out of place, and this opinion is a valid one.
Thank you for your honest review PolarBear, I am glad you were able to like it :D!
It is truely amazing that I picture a marriage built on govenment, the bride a beautiful maiden of the north army. The groom a Handsome General Of the south army. The two armies in internal war, families torn asunder, and a marrige doomed .
The darkness grows between the two armies they battle fiercely only to find out that they are evenly matched.
The lovers run only to be murdered by their own.
In Hell the families continue only to be dissapointed by thier pain so they reach to the heavens and scheme within the corrupted to gain the only ones of thier family that truely loved them.
In the end no one wins the lovers become dammned and the war continues.
You inspire me, I love your work and hope to hear it in movies one day.
such a dark story s8nsangl... such a vivid damnation, it truly stirs the mind. Though i'm used to seeing bad guys win, and more so, good guys. I've not encountered many stories where the darkness does not just win, but SCREAMS triumphant, and chokes anybody who would dare question otherwise!
I hope all these pieces can inspire you further, as you need them :D!
Thank you for the review, I am glad you liked the piece!
I also apologize for the late response :(
my computer is all black, and when I look into my screen while listening, it feels like my screen is going to kill me. Thanks for that... experience.
oh noes! I hope you have your Windows CD's handy! It's like Garlic and stakes for vampires for them!
I'm glad you had an experience though, thats why these pieces are up here!
Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it! :D
Lovely... Dark and Lovely
I can just imagine some older movie with this playing in the background. Probably during the wedding between a Demoness, and some poor slob who sold his soul. What a great theme you've set here! (As you have in all of your songs!! :D)
That background sound that comes in when the song quiets down sounds almost like part of a police siren, off in the distance. It's very unique :)
I'm curious though, i've been listening to a lot of your songs, and I found that you use FL pretty much as a base program. I've always wanted to make orchestra/classical style music, but i've never found the right kind of drums. I really like the way the timpany can add something that a simple kick or snare drum can't really do, but I don't know where to find them. Where did you get yours? :)
Great work on this piece! So far i've been getting a lot of NG music lately... I think I have more from you than any other artist... :P
I would say more about your music, but i'm just starting out. All I can Really say is that I love your music, and keep it up!!! =D
oh noes! Yet another review I have totally forgotten to review! My sincerest apologies Darthfett. The memory... she bleeds in agony and forgetfullness!
My timpani and snares and pretty much all of my percussion comes from East West Symphonic Orchestra Gold. It's a brilliant program, worth every god damned penny. And trust me, it's a lot of pennies.
I appreicate the kind words, i'm glad you liked the pieces! I'll be sure to keep it. Thank you for the review ^^. I see you have some work, i'll be sure to check it out!
