You open your eyes, brushing the dirt from your face. Your back aches and your body is bruised. As you lift yourself from the floor of the cave, unseen creatures scurry away into the shadows. You see light creeping in from the mouth of the cave. You know where you are, but you aren't sure why you are there. The mouth of the forest, the great cave that once welcomed the worship of your ancestors was no longer a holy place. The dark creature had taken residence here years ago, and with its presence, the forest died. Blackening from the center of its mass, the decay spread from within the forest to the outer reaches until all life had perished from it... and there you lie. You cannot recall how you wound up in the mouth of the forest. Reaching for your longsword, you realize you are unarmed. Who could have possibly brought you here...? As you ponder previous events, you hear the scratching of its wretched claws against wet rock. Panic fills your chest, and you lose your senses. Collapsing back to the floor, your mind fades and you fall back into a terrible slumber.

Well made track this. Really like the melody and the synths.
One thing that I really dislike though is the snare. It's terrible. I don't know if that's the basic Fl studio snare as I haven't used it for ages, but it sounds really poor. Try to get your hands on some better percussion samples. The beat is what makes a track, and without proper samples a track can't reach its full potential.

As for the structure, I did enjoy it and I thought it sounded nice, but there is something missing. As I assume that you were going for a 8bit video game music feel, you lack an arpeggio in the background, just to make the track sound fuller. I would probably have used a triangle or sine wave and added a continuous arpeggio playing a little bit lower than the main lead.

Also, this track lacks dynamics. As Biggyzoom said, there really is no part of the song that gets me excited or anything. There are no buildups, and no drops at all. Try to spilt your tracks into different parts, and make sure that you have some sort of transition between each part. The quality of these transitions can make or break a track, so it's very important that you spend time to perfect them.

Overall a decent track, but I feel like you can do better. Keep it up :).

Thanks for the thought out review. I finally got my hands on a non-demo version of FL Studio and will be more apt to spending time working on these tracks more. Your input really helps me improve, so thanks again!

Y'know, it sounds quite nice. It's rhythms and tonality are appealing but it lacks anything that would actually make me want to listen to it for enjoyment. It's more like a backing track or accompaniment than an actual song. It has very little in the way of hooks or melody and what ones it does have are boring and safe. Case and point, I can't remember the melodies at all. Keep at it though, I would like to hear it expanded on and developed.
