Ceevro says:

It's been a while, peeps out there in Newgrounds Land! This time around, we figured we'd give out a little holiday cheer, from the master himself - John Lennon.

It's been great to work with all these amazing artists from around the world, who all come together to make something special. I couldn't be prouder of you all! I'm hoping that, over the next year, we'll get enough singalong material together for a full album! These are all turning out to be expert-level tracks!

See you on the next one!

War is over. If you want it.

Heya! This is Step. Here we have the final singalong for 2015, where a bunch of artists get together and sing/play instruments, this time themed towards Christmas! Shout-out to Ceevro for organising this as always and even thinking of the idea of covering this song. On my end, I did the mixing and arrangement of it all.

Special thanks to MetalRenard for the master! Hope you enjoy.

LYRICS
So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
A new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
The rich and the poor ones
The road is so long
So happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
And we hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

Outro

War is over, if you want it

What? This didn't show up in my feed o.O
Good thing I found it through stalking people instead :)
This is one of my very favorite Christmas pieces, so I'm very happy you decided to use it for your collab :D

As usually, you all did a stellar job on this. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, listening to it :3
Merry Christmas, guys, and a Happy New Year!

Ceevro responds:

Very glad you enjoyed it! We released it right on Xmas Eve, so I think it's probably not going to get a ton of views, but it was still a great project...and who knows? Maybe it'll get a bunch more people listening next year!

I just love these collabs, guys. The organic, gather-'round-the-campfire vibes are great. The vocals blend surprisingly well given that they were presumably recorded at separate times and locations around the globe (ehhh, who am I kidding? I have no idea how these collabs are organized). Seriously, though, this piece has a great sense of climax throughout. The guitar solos at around the 3-minute mark offered some much-needed structural relief, too. Generally I'm not a huge fan of fade-out endings, especially when the fade-out itself seems a little rushed-into, but I suppose it's fitting in this instance. However, the production quality is Sears Tower-high as always, Step. ;D Obviously, everyone involved with this project really stepped up and delivered some quality content, but I'd especially like to mention Ceevro for putting this together. The audio portal really needs more collaborative efforts like this. The close-knit nature of our community is what truly makes it special, and you've exemplified that here, Ceevro, whether it's with the warm, comforting mood of this song or the fact that you've hoarded talented artists from around the globe to produce it. Bravo, ladies and gents! ^_^

Ceevro responds:

It's nothing I've done, really! All I do is play a song and ask people to join in! I think that that's the most organic musical experience one can have, really. I honestly have no idea how things will turn out when I post the starter tracks...the Singalongs are as good as the people who take the time to pull out their mics and mandolins and add what they can. What makes it so good, in my mind, is that no track goes to waste. Step is amazing at pulling out the best in everyone's performances, and honestly the performances themselves are outstanding to begin with.

If you like these, then pull out your mic! Or maybe volunteer to mix the next one while Step is on haitus! Or start banging some pots in the kitchen! We'd love to have you on board!

Thank you for letting me be a part of this! I think the song is quite a nice choice considering what is happening in the world right now. I think it all turned out great! Fantastic work from everyone involved as always, especially @Step who has made us all sound pretty :D

Ceevro responds:

Hell yeah! Thanks Step especially for putting all that effort into this, during what is undoubtedly a busy couple of weeks! The best thing about Step is, in my opinion, not his mastery of mixing (which is substantially better than mine), but his work ethic. If Step says it'll get done, you can take that to the bank!
